Fuck, now with titles.

Also OP, I think you're allowed to like movies from IMDB Top 250 lol. Props to you if you actually like all those films (and is not a massively pretentious pseud irl)

Give us top 10 from list OP

I really do love all those films deeply. There are a few films from the imdb top 250 that I can dig (every Coppola film is a fuckin bombshell, Spirited Away is great, The Deer Hunter is one of the greatest American films of the 70s, etc), I just find that when a creator really delves deep into their personal sensibility, which is when I think any work of art is at its best, its bound to be fairly polarizing.
I think you're close to the point where you could really start delving deeper into the principles that guide great art creation. I think if you choose some of your favorite directors and really listened to what they had to say in interviews and commentaries, and paid attention to what principles seem to really guide their work, you may start to engage with their films on a deeper level. For me I find going through director's work chronologically can help a great deal as well.
If you want some specific film reccs from your list, I'd really recommend Hideaki Anno's earlier live action work (Love & Pop and Ritual) and Vincent Gallo's Buffalo 66.

Get some taste embryo

I think you could dig some of Tobe Hooper's stuff, like Spontaneous Combustion and maybe The Funhouse?

yes! also saw zombi child

Bumpety.

Very nice choices bro. I've been watching early DW Griffith lately and it's been the most rewarding experience ever, especially going chronologically so you get in tune with that old film sensibility. If you're interested, his early Biograph shorts are some of the most insanely forward thinking silent films I've seen, and a good string to watch would be Money Mad -> A Corner in Wheat -> The Unchanging Sea -> The Massacre -> The Girl and Her Trust -> The Mothering Heart. I only bring this up because we seem to have similar sensibilities and I think you could get a lot out of them!

reddit-tier/10

Thanks, will do

These are the movies I rewatch the most. Thought i'd contribute, I usually hang on other boards. So i'm no filmbuff. Recommendations welcome.

Chart is pretty entry level so i'd recommend
The Assassination of jesse james
Der Untergang
Yojimbo
Ikiru
Twelve monkeys
The Thing
Fanny och Alexander
raising Arizona

rate, boyos

Attached: topsters2.png (2199x1400, 511K)

good stuff
Watch Fanny och Alexander, The Thin Red Line, The assassination of Jesse James, Twelve Monkeys, Barry Lyndon, M (1931),

I've watched all those
>Fanny och Alexander
Boring, don't like it.
>The Thin Red Line
Great war movie, if I make a top 100 it would probably be there.
>The assassination of Jesse James
Not a fan.
>Twelve Monkeys
Pretty good, it's not Gilliam's best movie but it's fun.
>Barry Lyndon
It looks nice but it feels so distant and aimless, don't feel anything for it.
>M (1931)
Very good movie for the time it was made.

congrats OP you're the only one that even has a slight bit of taste so far.
