We hate popular things.

Muh bone chilling slow burn!!!!!!

shitposters and contrarians

They get their collective dicks sucked a lot. And despite only being a distributor, it seems like their films tend to have a lot in common.
Most notably, for me, are weak, or sometimes ambiguous endings.

Favorite a24?
For me, it's The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Low Tide looks great mang

Good Time, Connie did nothing wrong

What? He stole and manipulated ppl. Chaotic Evil

There not even slow movies. They also seem like they’re made by people that care about the art form of filmmaking and aren’t just trying to get 300 million dollar projects. Other than some of the fanbase, where is the fucking problem?

So that he can help and save his brother, chaotic neutral

You know indy is a genre, right?

A24 seem to have the right festival connections to get publicity where it matters. They probably have copied Mirimax strategies to get to this point.

They've published like 10 horror movies, so why are they associated with slow burn shit?

Why are you attracted to children?

It is like conceptually they try to be interesting but in excution it often ends up being boring. Pretentious stuff that people eat up to feel intelligent.

They have released some good movies. But on the whole it reminds me of the foreign movie effect.

When pretentious people watch foreign movies they often overestimate how great the movie is because they can't tell ifthings like the acting is bad because of the language barrier. So they overestimate say, a French or Korean film, as being better than what it is.

People overestimate A24 films in a similar way.

But why? There is no language barrier in A24-films so your arguement is a moot point.

user, it is an analogy. Because of the tone and concept of the A24 film they are overestimating it in a similar way to how they would a foreign film with its language barrier.

If you come into a film with a certain baggage it makes you less away of a movies faults.

They kicked off the relatively recent "horror movies should be deep and thought-provoking" trend and Hereditary is the quintessential "slow-burn no jumpscares" horror the memes are based around

Because half of neo Yea Forums loves capeshit and the other half are pretentious hipstering arthousefags.

clearly didn't watch the movie

Because they are responsible for a ton of garbage movies.

Sounds like the capeshitter is tired of capeshit
