currently looking for a new job too since my 3 year contract runs out in july.
Have met with 13 companies so far and have 6 more intervies until the 26th.
It just takes time.
I were looking for my current contract for4 months too and wrote about 50-60 applications.

1st meet are mostly to scout skills since lots of companies use different systems or have different tasks all under the same job description. Money talks happen mostly during the 2nd meeting.
I've worked in automotive and industrial engineering so far and most companies are heavily cutting costs specially in the technical design departements outsorcing work to external providers who cycle through emplyoees like me with timed contracts. I am just hoping to land a constant job at some industry company in the future.

Here if you have experience especially as engineer its a workers market, they try to convince you to join them and not the other way around

I considered looking at other EU countries too. Here shortage so far is only at the electrical departements where i lack knowledge or some IT stuff i also have no clue about.
Most of my experience is at mould design and there is no real shortage here.

So even with experience you have to do mass interviews? Does it become easier at any point? It just sounds so unlike the situation here. It felt impossible to land a starting job but now its super easy to move around

i mean interest is there since i get invited to about every application i send but most places have rather specific programns or needs and are unwilling to train somebody who does not 100% fit their profile. But it is not like they take anybody who can open a CAD/E system.

If everyone opens their own business how does money flow or how can you get people to work for you if those people are opening their own business?

I unironically did this once, I was applying for a quality assurance manager position and was asking for 55k-60k a year. The company was trying to offer me 40k with bonuses (bonuses are usually bullshit) I respectfully told him that was unacceptable for me, he counter offered with 50k and yearly raises. I agreed since I was willing to do it for only 50k anyway kek.

Shit job, shit pay, working alone in cold rooms loading heavy things from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

I saw they put a sign on the factory door looking for people, i didn't know what was the job, in the interview they told me i needed to lift heavy things from one cold room to another and since it was already there I accepted it, but from 21 p.m to 23 p.m i was scrubbing, mopping the floor and helping the others from side to side (things they didn't pay me for) and then when i was in the cold rooms they rushed me because you need to move the things fast
Also, when i asked the other's workers how much they get paid, I discover i was the one who was paid the least.
