I honestly can't explain my fascination with asparagus, and I know it's not eaten everywhere in the world. but it's just got this crunchy but cooked texture that I really like. sauteed in garlic butter is fantastic, but blanched and with fresh cracked pepper is the way I like it. it's so weird, especially considering how foul it makes you wee. dare I say that I get some strange enjoyment out of it? like dutch ovening yourself. idk.
