It’s in the conversation. That was a time of epic intro themes that got you psyched up for the show.
The Ventures took Hawaii Five O to No.4 on the Billboard 100 in 1969, so yeah, it’s badass.
>based Zulu as Kono
Mission impossible is probably my other favorite from the 60s.
The actual video intro of Mission Impossible was smartly edited, too. Lalo Schifrin still hanging around. Age 87. Did a good Mannix theme, too.
In terms of original sequences used as titles...

You can't argue with this

Nothing wrong with a good dirty montage though

Man, they edited the shit out of that b-roll. Works great though.
Good choices. I remember as a kid hearing that acoustic guitar to MASH start and I knew it was time to get up and walk out of the room. As an adult I've grown to appreciate the show more.
It doesn't really stand up now but I used to love this an opening even if the show was boring.

As a more mature kinographer it occurs to me even in those clips nearly every shot is a cheap reference to something else (a lot of For Your Eyes Only and even Lucille Ball in there).
Solid choices. HSB is iconic.
The songs are better than the video, but gotta go with:
Gilligan’s island

Happy Days (we’ll be right back. Awwwwww)

Friends, and Fresh Prince, unironically.

Good OC post OP.
There just aren't many contemporary shows that even put the effort in. I will say that Bosch on Amazon has a very well done intro. Mad Men had a memorable intro. Sopranos obviously. It became few and far between in the past 20 +years. The 80s seemed to be the last decade of truly epic intro themes.
the 80s loved their kino cars. Total opposites.
Dukes of Hazzard

Knight Rider

>This is Jim Rockford. At the tone, leave your name and message. I'll get back to you.
BSG had a good intro.
Gotta give credit to the real effort of Game of Thrones, memorable music and they changed up the visuals to the episode.
Stranger Things hit the 80s music and graphics vibe but didn’t do more with it.
But, yeah, generally it is a lost art. Especially in the last decade....

They changed the answering machine message each episode which was pretty innovative.
It's pretty obvious that Archer ripped off Mannix alot. The color squares in the intro.
Archer for comparison

Definitely a 60s graphic trope. But it kinda was built on the Bond kino opening as well... iconic in itself....
Hawaii Five-O is totally worth revisiting and light years better than the remake with James Caan's son.
Jack Lord had the greatest hair of the 20th century....
Cary Grant and Elvis are in the running. They said Jack Lord emptied cans of hairspray on set keeping that thing puffed up.
The guy who played the DA on the show the first couple of seasons sat in the makeup chair next to Lord's and was often asked if Lord wore a toupee and he replied "No, but he had a comb over that defied physics."
Batman Beyond has the best opening in tv history, Miami Vice is second

Miami Vice is pure (fucking 80s cocaine) kino.
My nose bleeds on that intro.

It inspired this one:

>Kam Fong as Chin Ho!
>Mannix

That and the opening of The Thomas Crown Affair remind me of Cowboy Bebop, which I saw first even though it is the newest one.
>Kam Fong as Chin Ho
>Zulu as Kono
Why bother? Lol
Probably the most comfy intro of TVsitcom history, that really shouldn’t have never worked. Nothing haha funny about it.
But hey: “where everybody knows your name..”
Meta. Brilliant. Iconic.
