Probably, but it was clear it wasn't her. They never showed her face while alive, they showed the shot of a woman walking into the house while holding the baby. If they had actually gotten the actress they would have shown a close shot of her; it's the same gimmick that soap operas use.

Supernatural tested the water for spin offs with Ghostfacers and Jo Harville and that monster mafia family. None of them took. The show's whole popularity rides on Sam and Dean and to a lesser extent Castiel, and they only perform well as a duo/trio.
There's nothing to spin off. The only thing that would work would be making a show about a different set of intensely handsome brothers and basically flipping the premise: The Enfield brothers looking to avenge their father who was killed by angels for reasons unknown or some shit like that, a show premise which is far beyond the capabilities of the current staff to produce.

how about something like, dean and sam (after the epic 15th season) retire to the bunker and restart the MoL, with a hunter academy that recruits and teaches new hunters. dean and sam occasionally accompany the new hunters and teach them the ropes.

Well ghostfacers were explicitly written as gag characters, which is a problem with a lot of the potential spinoff characters (or they're dead)
Spinoff would need a handsome charismatic male because the show is held up by women. Jo and Wayward sisters aren't that and the black Bloodlines dude was not charismatic. Both Jack and Cas were written to be autists and could never carry a show continuously either.

I think making a more ensable type show is the right way to go, even though they've tried it 3 times, the main problem with wayward sisters is they are young not particularly talented actors as the leads, jody and cute sheriff were suppose to be the mature ones, but you need more like say Ketch and Jack to balance it out and basically the idea
