Black noir is insane, imagine being a clone of a guy and your only purpose is killing him if he goes nuts, but he never does
so what Black Noir starts doing is killing people and taking pictures of it, which makes Homelander think he's going insane because he doesn't remember doing it so he starts accepting he's just evil and starts doing evil shit on his own
at the very end Homelander realizes he was never really evil when Black Noir reveals himself and they both die

I liked it more than expected. It's a cool premise that's executed pretty well, Karl Urban, The Deep and the actor who plays Homelander are all great. Pretty decent action and violence and with a good mix of drama and humor that isn't Marvel snarkiness. There's one "hur dur christian republicans" episode but compared to other series the social commentary stuff isn't bad and what they do with social media and corporate marketing is fun.

Never read the comics (they look like shit) but I gather the tv Homelander is made to be more complex. He's completely fucked up but not a psychopath that does every depraved in the book based on that comic panel I saw of Homelander being the one that made Starlight give a blowjob rather than the Aquaman knock off. The tv one seems beyond hedonistic pleasures like drink, drugs, and coercing sex acts outside of his relationship with the corporate milf, which is only cause of deep rooted psychological issues.

I imagine they do question it and are mad about it, but there is nothing they can really do about it, similar to americas nuclear arsenal and military. A few times we see mentioned that vaught push the idea that they are chosen from god, but that seems to be the only real way the series shows how people justify supes.
I hope we are going to be seeing in the next season the external perspecitive of the supes since we've only seen it from an american perspective. Now that compund v is out in the wild, I hope we will see something to the US Soviet nuclear arms race with america and its allies/enemies. That could be the opposite of what happens or exaclty what happens haven't read the comic, but that idea could also mean losing focus on The Boys which could be a problem.
Everyone is an asshole, though it literally shows frenchie and mothers milk being redeemed by the asian girl and his family, and that they are not bad people. And also shows Hughie being turned into a bad person due to his situation and implies thats the same route that Butcher took. The only "good" character is Starlight who is shown as naiive and vunerable.
