I love how millennials always talk about how movies today suck, but then when they talk about movies they like, they'll bring up garbage like this

game of thrones almost did...

Baito baito desu

>fantasy

>Lotr has no diversity and paints the east as evil, its garbage goyim! Who wants to watch white trash triumph over nubile furtile black bull orcs?

Attached: 1549212328990.png (144x151, 11K)

People were really sceptical about the movies, but Peter delivered.
No CGI 90% of the movie, no forced virtue signalling.
Oh those times.

Absolute trash

Why does LOTR make zoomers seethe so hard? Is it because they were little babies doodooing their diapers while the rest of use were experiencing the purest kino to ever grace the big screen?

Gee I wonder whos behind this post

Attached: 1552486280525.jpg (604x718, 164K)

very nice shots

It's because zoomers don't like boring garbage

People act like it was some sort of happy accident. It took a lot of work and talent to make these films as good as they are.

It never caeses to amaze how they barely used any CGI, thats probably why it looks so good and has so much soul.

Attached: 1254360545407.jpg (640x480, 30K)

elf and magic shit like this has always been cringe

>yesss goy, let the west hate the east, tear yourself apart goyim

Attached: 1457921426224.jpg (958x775, 661K)

Only the first one though.

The other two are borderline capeshit tier.

Attached: yikes.webm (854x480, 2.97M)

ah yes, the scrubbing bubbles of doom

It's a terrible movie, at least the first one is. I haven't seen the others because of how awful the first one is

we're currently in a slump where everything is tribalistic virtue signalling, forced diversity quotas, and other hamfisted political pandering instead of being true to creator's original artistic vision. they don't make movies with that kind of passion, sincerity, and cast chemistry anymore.

Attached: 1237743999557.jpg (321x585, 16K)

Everything after the shire was garbage.

What was the last good era with vestiges of soul here?

Ed Edd n Eddy should overlap with late millennial and early zoomer

here's a handy guide to that repost

Attached: I don't really live in one timeline.jpg (1400x1039, 879K)

The good seasons (pre-school) were millennial. Rest don't matter.

it was made with passion and heart and not made for money
>why is there no hardcore tranny sex in this movie? x-D
t. zoomer

As much as i consider FOTR one of the greatest films of all time, the entire Lothlorien sequence is just badly paced, edited, and the filter they used to make Lothlorien seem magical is too over the top. Moria sequence is flawless kino though.

Reruns, moron. They were playing season 1 and 2 episodes until around 2009

It's incredible how many of the young generation haven't seen this shit. Sad

Reruns don't count

Lorien works in the extended edition. They chopped at it badly with the theatrical cut.

>they don't make movies with that kind of passion, sincerity, and cast chemistry anymore.
Feels really boomer to say that, but yup, they don't.

they exist in a culture vacuum, with nebulous youtubers providing disposable content that is forgotten within hours, and less substantial than a radio show

So you're saying people born 98-01 who watched Ed Edd n Eddy marathons in 06-09 don't view Ed Edd n Eddy as being apart of their childhood?

Only kikes dont like the LotR trilogy

because it was based on a book written between the second and first world wars
not many people have that perspective anymore, plus Tolkien is one in a billion

>but Peter delivered
it was a while lot of people, wouldnt put it all on him

It still looks better than the Hobbit Trilogy.

There wasn't a significant sword and sorcery fantasy film from 82 to 01. They tend to make shitty movies.

but thwre were great tv series!

Christ why is this sperg so obsessed with jews

>medieval fantasy capeshit
Ask me how I know you're a millenial

I may be a pleb, but I really do believe Fellowship of the Ring is one of the greatest movies ever made.

Not because of Peter, not because of the studio, not even because of the content. It's most that everything just came together, every aspect, to make something that changed what a fantasy film could and should be forever, while also setting a standard for visuals, acting, costumes, and creative vision for every other film to shoot for.

I've seen lots of movies, and tons of fantasy movies, but Fellowship (and subsequently Two Towers and Return of the King) is the only movie where right from the beginning I 100% buy what the movie is selling. I believe the characters are real, fantasy people in a different world. I believe Gandalf is a wizard, not just Ian McKellan in a hat. I believe that Boromir and Aragorn are real people, not just two dudes I know in costumes. So, so few movies, especially fantasy movies, ever come close to accomplishing that, and I can't really pinpoint why.

>I LOVE FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION

Attached: 1565293003779.png (454x520, 11K)

and you millennials say zoomers have bad taste

>being younger than a gameboy color cartridge

Its too long for their short attention span.
Their phones call to them as the ring called to Gollum so they miss essential part of the plots and then they lose interest.
Its rather ironic.

Name a good movie. Just one.

It's literally impossible for anything to come close to it. Why? Because everyone who watched this on Yea Forums where between the ages 6-17 -something, so we all have a nostalgic childhood/teenage-esq relationship to all the movies, then on top of that they're one of the best movies ever made, then on TOP of that they're fucking fantastic fantasy escapism.

So you have

>Nostalgia + Escapism/Fantasy + Some of the best fucking movies ever made

can't beat that bro.

I was in middle school when I watched Fellowship of the Ring, and I thought it was one of the boringest things ever

So did I. I preferred Harry Potter, but then a year or two later when Return of the King came out I renounced by faggot ways and came to see the Trilogy as a masterpiece.

Fellowship is the Lawrence of Arabia of modern film. It's a masterpiece.

Haven't seen the other two. Fellowship is still one of my least favorite films ever made. Tried rewatching it a few years ago, but it's so terrible

Why do incels love medieval fantasy so much?

That's 3 different people cunt, top two are me.

New 4k hdr release when

It’s more of an epic myth desu. Even if it invented all the fantasy tropes. Modern fantasy publishers would reject LOTR for not having a “solid magic system.”

Fellowship of the Ring is quite a bit better than the other two.

They literally never read books so how could they be excited for a movie based on a book? Hunger Games and Harry Potter excepted, they had to read those because Scholastic dumped them off by the garbage truck load at every elementary and middle school.

tell me about the things you like so I can shit on them

No.

Because good people came together in earnest, and they worked their asses off, and they didn't quit.

The passion from the crew, director and actors, and the timelesness of good practical effects

>all-white cast filmed predominantly in an all-white country with all-white extras and all-white community support in a celebration of all-white mythology written by an all-white man
We will never see the likes of it again.

you just need to watch more films

Attached: avengers-endgame-finabattle-charge-700x369.jpg (1510x892, 533K)

Underrated.

>implying lotr isn't peak boomer

>WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH MAKE THE BROWN PEOPLE GO AWAY MOMMY WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Fucking hysterical that people this fucking fragile and sensitive consider themselves the "master race"

>I ONLY READ HISTORY BOOKS WRITTEN BY KIKES

Attached: 1565148722956.png (454x520, 11K)

What are you referencing with 82? Conan?

Well I'm due for a rewatch

While I agree Legolas was ruined, 2 and 3 still have great moments. Fellowship is virtually flawless, though.

>that dogshit color grading

groce

Attached: pukesville.jpg (979x1023, 94K)

More importantly it was a great author who wrote epic books to make those movies happen. These books made the movies great. Hollywood could never create such a story. Hollywood is talentless in this regard.

Nobody cared about this story until the movies were made

>Nobody cared about this story until the movies were made
here it is, the most wrong comment of the century. Literally every media outlet world wide was talking about these films when they were announced, it was huge.

Because the people who made it were autistic enough to plan every little detail out during pre-production and it shows. Also the studio didn’t fuck around with them.

not even close

Nigga I was 7 and I thought it was awesome.

What the fuck are you talking about? This is every zoomer’s favourite film.

T. Zoomer (18) who works in a school of zoomers, at which he was recently a zoomer student who discussed film a lot

Attached: Why didn't Legolas just solo Sauron's entire army LOTR.webm (960x400, 2.86M)

GOT wasn't even worthy to lick the floor where LOTR strides

>no forced virtue signalling.
I AM NO MAN! HYAAAAAHHHH!!

What is so terrible about Fellowship?

Completely agree.

Spot on

Fellowship was the only half decent one and it still cut out a lot of fun parts with frodo growing old (he was in his 50s when he left the shire) and the hobbits adventuring around or spending more time in Lorien enjoying the magic of the forest
Two towers was crap except for the beginning with old theoden and Gandalf
Return of the King was crap

1 shit scene through 3 3 hour movies. I can handle that one bit of pandering to the 5 females that watched this movie

The pacing in Fellowship was awful. So rushed

gandalf being gone almost two fuckin decades is terrible story writing tho. AT MOST a decade should be how long he was gone. 17 years is so long and so randomly precise

The fellowship is an almost perfect movie.
Two towers is a good sequel.
I haven't been able to finish RoTK. I always just lose interest after the ghost people start hitting things.

>nu mafia movies is where it’s at bro

Attached: 54F9B240-12B9-4DF0-83A4-F895A55DAE1E.jpg (633x640, 51K)

Well middle earth is a big place, and Gandalf wasn't sure about anything yet
How the fuck did he ride to Minas Tirith in like a day as in the movie?

Yea, fellowship is one of the longer books and still it felt like they were gone like a couple days at most
Theres not so much of the feeling of adventure
And I don't think the format of film is to blame for this, you can make an adventurous film feel linger even if it is only 2-3h, just Jacksons background as an action director coloured it.

For example Conan the Barbarian is a pure action film, and shorter than any LOTR yet captures the feeing of exploration and wide space better imo

One thing I liked about the Hobbit was that the sense of scale was expanded at least.

Also in the film it felt like they introduced Strider too quickly and then in the next scene he was just Aragorn without the period of mistrust

I will never not be mad. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Barely any zoomer have seen them but the ones that did like then
t. 19 year old

I really hope you kill yourself

Agree, I thought I would die from boredom but they moment they leave the shire I was already hooked

>too long
>few quips
>names are too long and weird
>no classical hot guys
>you need an attention span of more than 30 seconds to follow the story
>setting and genre turns off a lot of people
>dense references to Tolkien's legendarium

That's from the top of my head. Most of my friends don't like LOTR, and the ones who do go to another college
t. 20 year old

Ive met people who think star wars is too slow, marvel conditioned gen z

Fool of a took.
