Blue Velvet

Kino or trash? Where does it rank in the filmography of David Lynch?

Thougths on the deleted scenes and how they change the film?

Meh, nothing special. Dune was better.

his best film along with fwwm. Dennis Hopper is so fucking great in this

I haven't seen them, wasn't it just family stuff?
Why do you think that this is his best?

STRAIGHT FROM MY HEART FUCKER

if this script was filmed by literally any other director it would be lifetime movie material

1. Mulholland Dr.
2. FWWM
3. Blue Velvet
4. Eraserhead
5. Elephant Man
All great though, haven't seen the rest

Its the best movie of the 80s

Here's the official LYNCH power rankings:
1.) Eraserhead
2.) Wild at Heart
3.) pre-Eraserhead works

everything else is shit.

top 3 lynch easily

Watch Wild At Heart next. The most fun movie I've seen in a long time7

It's easily his most accessible movie

TP season 3 is better than Wild at Heart.

I'll second this. It's my favorite Lynch film.

Here today, gone tomorrow

pleb

Kino

Ugh

Ultra pleb

>Why do you think that this is his best?
simple. I enjoy it the most. I like all of his other films with the exception of Inland Empire which I find only mildly enjoyable

Why didn't Jeffrey just stay with the singer? Sandy was boring, i know that was the point but Jeffrey and Dorothy were the focus of the movie

Dune was fucking shit and you know it. Kyle mclauglin was a horrible miscast in dune. Blue velvet was decent but most lynch films are shit brainlets watch so they can show reddit how awesome their taste is.

Because David Lynch had to promote Bruce Dern's daughter

>most lynch films are shit brainlets watch so they can show reddit how awesome their taste is
Sounds like you got filtered, pleb

He loved Sandy. The singer was completely crazy.

So what are some patrician films?

hyperpleb

Are any of his Short Films worth checking?

FUCKING CELL PHONE

The final scene of TP season 3 is the best thing Lynch has ever done. Wild at Heart is good and has some great scenes but it's quite messy in lot of places.

If anyone belongs in a Lynch movie, it's Ye (no raciss jokes plz)

lost highway had marilyn manson, honestly could see kanye in a similar role

dude like what if a guy had a green hand lmao

dude like what if the fairy godmother lmao

You take movies too seriously, even if you watch a 2deep4u movie from tarkovsky you shouldn't act like its literature

Great shit and the college scene alone added a shitload of context to Jeffrey's actions throughout the film.
I'd love for Lynch to recut his deleted scenes himself so I don't have to watch Q2 edits.

>movie i don't like bad
>other people who like it are only lying to look cool

Attached: helmet.png (403x448, 53K)

Where can i find all the deleted scenes?

That was the worst part of the show. The rest was great.

What about the shit shovels? You know, spraying and turning shovels for over 5 minutes of screentime

That was good. Who gives a fucking shit how long a scene is?

>That was good
No, THIS is good. That shovel scene was literal shit

Attached: 1531456221425.webm (1280x720, 2.37M)

No, it was good. Like i said the only thing i consider bad was the one punch man. The rest was good.

Michael Cera was good?

Ye should play a nutjob side character like Killer Bob, Bobby Peru or the Mystery Man from Lost Highway.

Attached: lost-highway-freak.jpg (900x600, 139K)

Yes, he was barely in it from what i remember. He was quite funny.

I'm legitimately worried about you user

From what I've seen:

1. Inland Empire
2. Blue Velvet/The Elephant Man
3. Mulholland Dr./Eraserhead
4. Lost Highway

You would be the only one.

Aren't you glad someone cares?

>what do you call a black man with a job, a wife and children?
a nigger

It's pointless at this point.

Nothing can be as pointless as the shovel scene

film is a failed artform

BABY WANTS TO FUCK

I guess you haven't seen the new Harmony Korine film.

I'm happy to say I haven't seen any

Attached: Oh dougie.webm (720x480, 2.63M)

Well the new one is the definition of pointless.

I'm hoping you didn't waste your time on Spring Breakers

Attached: OH.webm (720x480, 1.42M)

I did, that was decent actually.

meh, I'd see him as way more to the side than i those characters, like manson in lost highway, almost a cameo.
i don't if kanye could actually give a good performance

you failed at the finest pleb filter

I don't know Kanye but does anyone here thinks he would give rights to his music to a film which is a musical based on his music? Waves by Trey Edwards Shults is allegedly 3 hour musical based and with Kanye songs. The problem is that they didn't buy the songs, he shot the film but afaik the film won't work without those songs.

What's good about Beach Bum?

Fake

I don't believe you

The deleted scenes are terrible. The editor was brilliant - those scenes add fuck all to the film and would've killed the pacing. As it stands now, Blue Velvet is perfect.

I really don't lile the scene of Jeffrey watching someone get raped. Whilst it's nice and dark, I think gradually seeing how morally questionable Jeffrey is over the course of the film works much better.

what's not?
it tries to do something very specific, kinda like lynch, which while definitely not perfect achieves a lot; it honestly looks and feels like a david foster wallace or even a pynchon creation

1. Mulholland Drive
2. Blue Velvet
3. Fire Walk With Me
4. Lost Highway
5. The Straight Story
6. The Elephant Man
7. Erasearhead
8. Wild Heart

Haven't seen Dune and Inland Empire.

Twin Peaks (both the old and new show except mid season 2) is the best thing he has done.

Attached: laurapalmer.jpg (499x666, 34K)

you should watch inland empire asap even though it won't be easy

the life the singer offered him was a lie, everything he thought he knew about her turned out to be bullshit by the end of the film.

I watched a version that didn't have subtitles for any of the polish scenes. I watched the whole movie not knowing anything that was going on.

imagine being this pleb

seen countless times:
Twin Peaks all seasons + FWWM
Mulholland Drive
Eraserhead

rewatched once:
Blue Velvet
Lost Highway

only saw once but liked it:
Elephant Man
The Straight Story
Dune
Wild at Heart
Inland Empire

Nah

yeah it would

It is in the top 3 not including The Return which is the greatest thing Lynch has ever done

1. Lost Highway
2. Firewalk with Me
3. Blue Velvet

Show me your list then

this is a truly awful ranking

wtf why is this talentless nigger here i thought lynch fans had good taste

definitely- the substantial ones like rabbits and the grandmother are great. the best short shorts are imo absurda and premonitions following an evil deed

I honestly liked that.
