Disney Wars won´t be remembered... or to be more precise they won´t remember which one was Rey on. The movies themselves are forgettable blockbusters and with Disney helming we will have like 40 episodes.

Boyega himself is shit tier but Fin as a concept does have some potential. As in, if they had dedicated some time to build an arc for him he could have had meaningful relationships with some of the other troopers that could make up for some drama.

We would all have been better off with a version of these movies that did not appeal to nostalgia. These movies would be significantly better without the old crew the way they used them.

JJ had a story he created with Arndt.
He rewrote the first film to move the older characters to the second film and give new characters some room to breathe which makes sense to be fair and was probably the right decision.
Arndt's general outline for the trilogy was supposed to be followed upon in the upcoming films, that is, until Rian yeeted it into trash.
Notice that Arndt is credited as the story creator in TFA, but not mentioned anywhere in TLJ. He had the outline for the whole trilogy but Johnson was allowed to disregard it.

TFA was exactly what fans wanted at that time. People were asking for a Western in space, return to the roots, smaller scale story. And honestly that was okay.

Things only gore fucky when Rian took the wheel, everything collapsed upon itself when he decided that there's not going to be a time jump, which effectively made the second movie into an unnecessary prolongation of the introduction.

Fuck Rian Johnson.

Things only got REALLY fucky when Leia flew back in. Not just that event, but the entire film went wrong then.
