Films that are obvious satire but the general public are too stupid to understand.
Satan is not a fucking goat. And if you're an atheist reading this how did you even take this movie seriously?

As an atheist I never take horror movies that feature ghosts, demons or witches seriously.
do you have autism
lol u tk him 2da bar?
Maybe. My biggest gripe with this movie is that people were actually comparing it to The Shining as if that genius is even remotely comparable to this ridiculous movie
You're right, satan isn't a goat. He's a seven-headed dragon with floating fire crowns. Fucking unrealistic movie.
Yes that's moral of the story. Sometimes we take aspects of religion way too seriously then and now.
>The Shining
>genius
Besides, there's almost nothing in common between these two films.
Supernatural nonsense aside, there's a very significant historical depiction when it comes to 'The Witch' and humors the massive hysteria and witch hunts that plagued the New World in the 17th Century.
>satan isn’t a goa-
Satan might not be a goat, but he is the GOAT.
what's the satire? All I saw in this movie was a whole family hallucinating from eating nothing but corn contaminated by ergot rot
this painting always fills me with dread
it’s a folktale... it’s not supposed to have any ‘muh deep meaning’
same, de goya is my favourite painter
>how did you even take this movie seriously?
So you're denying that puritans acted as delusional, paranoid and schizophrenic as the ones in the film did? That was the reality. "Satan" is portrayed as a goat in the movie, because this was the modern image that Christians from the catholic and protestant churches painted for him at the time. It traces back to the middle ages.
Satan can be a fucking goat if he wants to be a fucking goat!
you people here are really delusional
Please post Satan's erotic toy Anya
>if you're an atheist reading this how did you even take this movie seriously?
Suspension of disbelief, being able to feel what the characters are feeling based on their beliefs and what really exists in the movie's world.
The terrifying thing in this movie for me was imagining how horrible your everyday life must be when religion and beliefs have that much power on everything in your life and all the irrational fear that it generates.
>The Shining
>as if that genius
Yea Forums has gotten to a point where I find it difficult to discern who is shitposting ironically and who is a legit retard.
Satan is whatever people represent him to be. That has changed over time. If you're not just an autistic troll and want to learn something read: nationalgeographic.com
They were all hallucinating because they ate rotten corn you retarded brainlets
Well, corn is the devil's vegetable.
The film couldn't be more direct and straightforward.
It's literally (literally) just a New England folk-tale brought on-screen. No le symbolism gimmicks, no cheap "hidden meaning" tactics, a straight direct narrative without pretending to be anything else than what it is.
