When Google bought it
Eventually every business ends up like this when there's money to be made. Stupid zoomers.
Hasnt youtube operated on a loss since its creation?
Thats what they say, but its most likely creative accounting, like how hollywood movies sometimes cost $100 million to make but somehow has worse actors, effects and quality as a $20M movie.
The bigger a business is, the less "profits" they make and the more likely it is they pay $0 tax due to "losses" and "growth".
for me it died when the suggestion bar stopped being related videos, but unrelated clickbait bullshit
When it became monetized and wasn't just hobbyists doing stuff for fun.
When everyone started making videos 10 minutes long because that's what makes the most money. Also google as a search engine is fucking trash. I don't want results to be catered to what their algorithm thinks I want. I'm unironically going to start using bing now.

I prefer a youtuber being sponsored to them conforming to youtube's bullshit policies
What this guy said. All the monetisation and algorithms and content policy changes stem from it.
Would be fine if they didn't shill absolute shit like Amino though.
