karl you're an idiot, play a record !
there was this man who was sort of half a women
if moths had eyes
Will they ever do more podcasts/radio shows?
>Karl: But when I was at school a-around that, sort of, twelve age, I-I didn’t get up to much. You have no money, there’s nowt you can do. So every night it was the same thing. I’d get home and you- I-I’d have to, I’d have to go to the shop, right? And get some potatoes and some bread.
>Ricky: Brilliant.
>Karl: Every night. Right? And I kept taking this into school--
>Ricky: Sorry, wh-what was it, Dublin in the seventeenth century?
>Steve: Yeah!
>Ricky: What d’you mean, everyday you went to the shops and got potatoes and bread?
>Steve laughs
>Karl: That’s-that’s kind of what I had to get all the time.
>Ricky: (laughing) Why? What did you have, chip sandwiches?
>Will they ever do more podcasts/radio shows?
Extremely unlikely.
Ricky won't even talk about Karl these days.
Karl can't be bothered.
Steve is trying very hard to be cool and serious, he won't let a manc twat take the piss.
Eventually the teacher was like "Just make something up".
>Ricky won't even talk about Karl these days.
It's kind of sad that their relationship went that way. At one point they seemed like best friends. From an Idiot Abroad onward their relationship just seems to have deteriorated.
which half?
baba
>Karl can't be bothered.
I don't think that's it. He needs them a fuck of a lot more than they need him.
Fat baby on telly
black people
do we need ‘em?
Really? He has enough money to live on and has had a couple of ventures since then with Sky. He's doing absolutely fine, he's a simple man who's happy staying home with his girlfriend, doing DIY and going for walks in the park. What the fuck does he need Ricky for
Which is strange because he's the best one of the bunch.
THIS IS AMAZING
THIS IS AMAZING BROADCASTING
>At one point they seemed like best friends. From an Idiot Abroad onward their relationship just seems to have deteriorated.
Ricky changed a lot.
I always remember this quote Steve said on XFM:
"Celebrity is a mask that eats into the face."
Oh because the standard has never slipped before!
So r kid took a 'orse in the 'ouse
Turns out ... little monkey baby
Ricky was always a cunt, his celebrity has just enabled him
clive warren
It's these, Ricky is the problem. He treated Karl like a child treats a new toy and when he got bored he threw him away. I swear you can feel him change from the early XFM days to the later ones and into the podcast
Was Ricky self aware on how terrible he was?
it looked like a ripped tennis ball
karl has always seemed really unimpressed with everything, all the experiences he has had and ricky is a bright dude who seems easily bored, i'm surprised they stayed friends as long as they did to be honest, they're living in totally different directions.
ricky always seemed genuinely very fond of karl though, unlike steve who i thought was quite vicious to him sometimes.
Karl was a right cunt to steve sometimes so you can hardly blame him.
by the podcast days absolutely but hes always been aware how annoying he is in general
yeah it's a two way street.
>Karl was a right cunt to steve sometimes so you can hardly blame him.
I don't think any of them are "friend" material, they all seem pretty self centered.
It was only a pork chop that had been stuck to her buttock!
Ricky might not need either of them but everything he has done without either of the two has, in my opinion been terrible. I loved the Office and Extras, the XFM archives and Podcast were great and hilarious too. Everything he has done since then has been mostly unfunny garbage with tacked on emotional/sentimental over tones. It's as if he thinks he's above just being some hilarious caricature and wants to write and star himself as something much deeper.
At least he gave Karl the opportunity to get out there and earn a shitload of money in such a short period of time in exchange for treating him like a circus act. Even if the podcasts were to make a comeback it wouldn't be the same, it was already on a downward slope towards the end and they wouldn't have as much to discuss. It would also feel forced as Karl is much more aware of himself these days.
Daily reminder that Steve was the funniest of the three.
This. After Life was bonafide cringe.
Since they stopped working together Karl has unironically made the best content.
He was the funniest in candid moments, had some good observations, and his contributions to Extras and The Office were great. But for some reason his stand-up was pure shit.
based karl
>But for some reason his stand-up was pure shit.
So were Ricky's. Turns out making a good stand up special is harder than it looks.
>that woman with the big head
>like bo selecta
>He needs them a fuck of a lot more than they need him.
No he doesn't, he just needs to return to the conversational format with a few people to bounce his personality off. It doesn't need to be Ricky and Steve - in fact, it'd be best if it wasn't them given that they could rehash some of the older material from a fresh perspective - it just has to be relatively witty folks who are able to rub Karl the right way. The trick is mostly in getting the chemistry right.
None of this now needed: Baby dead.
Ricky's first 3 stand ups were funny as fuck and I don't know what sort of taste you need to have to disagree.
>now... the thing is...
I don't like jellyfish, they’re not a fish, they're just a blob. they don’t have eyes, fins or scales like a cod.
they float about blind, stinging people in the seas,
and no one eats jellyfish with chips and mushy peas.
get rid of 'em
I agree, Animals, Politics and Science were good shows.
>Ello boys
Is this some euro show? Why the fuck is it always posted?
it was a radio show that became a podcast, then somebody animated it and put it on tv.
>Apparently it's the mammal... right
>That's got... sort of the pointiest eyes
>Eyes that pop out of their 'ead...
>... Steve
The timing on that was gold.
this is faceapp
>is this some euro show?
It was published in the US.
>Why the fuck is it always posted?
Because people like it
i like her episodes, they are chill and a break from the chaos of the others
The circumstances and context of the XFM shows (which the podcasts are a pale imitation of) were lightning in a bottle and couldn't be replicated nowadays, any reunion of the three of them would be a disappointment.
First and foremost Karl was a complete unknown, just there to 'press the buttons', his role slowly developed as Ricky and Steve began to realise what a goldmine he was.
Additionally, Ricky and Steve were successful enough in the wake of the first season of The Office to get away with doing what they wanted on the show, but they weren't stars yet and were still vaguely in touch with everyday life in the UK, doing stuff like going to the pub etc.
you never see an old man having a twix
No, it's just a newfag filter
>oh! you like poverty claire!
>thats interesting, in christmas time you hope kids go lame.
>skips
You mean "you never see an old man eat a MAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRSSSS"
did they actually give karl a prostate exam for real during that one episode?
I'm almost done series 2. Is it worth continuing after that? I've heard it gets meaner and less authentic.
bar bar bar
His off the cuff stories of being horrible with women were great.
> I've heard it gets meaner and less authentic.
it really does, but its worth going through once. Now most times i skip from season 0-1-2 directly to the podcasts
Her voice makes my willy feel funny
She's off the drugs so at least she doesn't have to thieve so much now
pleb
>listening to series 0
Like when he tried reading a motorcycle book to impress a girl.
He doesn't at all. He made his own little production company and 2 of his own shows (Moaning of Life and Sick of it). He's made enough to buy a nice house live comfortably for the rest of his life. He's not some extravagant spender.
plus he can afford all the boilers he'll ever need
>a motorcycle book
