Why do whites make this face?
>member this story
>member that story
i think you know the answer
The visuals were more scary the actual stories, so maybe it’ll be good
Did anyone see the reprint of this? The new illustrations were terrible.
I was hoping it would have been made for the adults who grew up with the books but it looks like its gonna be a kid movie judging by the trailer.
I'll still check it out though
Autopsy of Jane doe director is doing it, it'll be horrorkino
its a way to say fuck you without saying it and also make you think were being polite by smiling
It's basically the Goosebumps movie but not for kids.
Yeah they toned them down cuz the originals are nightmare fuel. Poor zoomers.
Though it won't be as good as the books were when you were 12, anthology horror movies are usually pretty good and become cult classics at the very least. Del Toro's previous attempts at true horror films are shit but he's succeeded in making scary scenes like the eyeball guy in Pan's Labyrinth.
It's not even about the stories. It's about the creepy pictures.
The illustrations are absolutely crucial, but I think it was a feedback loop. The creepy illustrations primed you psychologically for the stories, and the stories made the illustrations more creepy. It all coalesced into an overall spooky experience.
I hope my niggas Thomas and Alfred are in there
>Not for kids
I was reading Scary Stories when I was 10. I loved those books
Based Del Taco is producing, so at least it would have well made creatures and puppets, with a good mix of practical effects and CGI. Even his most shit films as producer have been entertaining so I expect something similar. Practically James Wan-tier.
Yeah, the books were for kids, but the movie looks like a straightforward horror where as Goosebumps movie is a kids comedy. But really, it'd be neat if the Goosebumps stories would also get adapted into a more serious horror.
>I grew up on the Scary Stories series of books
cool?
they'll make half of it about cringy /leftypol/ politics like they always do
Fuck this pic takes me back
I like that they're being faithful to the creepy drawings of the original, but everything else I've seen from the trailers looks tame and goofy. The plot seems shitty too.
Post that cute Russian girl that makes that face, you know the one.
>be 10 years old
>read book 1
>be fucked up for weeks
>couldn't even piss comfortably
>always afraid of every corner, every noise
>would cower under blankets every night
>month later, not so scared
>pick up book 2
>repeat
Kino feels. I don't think there's any other book series as notorious as this one when it comes to horror.
Did they actually think kids liked these books for the stories?
Anyone remember another series of books that was similar to Goosebumps? I remember one story about a game or something like tag and some kid got tagged and he became sicker and weirder. That's probably the best scary story I read as a kid
That's because there werent. The author/s were incredible at creating the imagery of the tales. Even the ones that were fairly innocuous in their ending were terrifying throughout
it's loosely about the stories
the trailer is literally
>kids find book
>book has their names as the characters who die in each story
>that's how they die
Why do white people make this face?
somebody else already got to it fren
I did
i can see her titys
Fear Street?
>PG 13
yikes
I don't think so. FUCK, I'm gonna have to my parents' house and check or I'll go fucking insane
post the picture of the thumb or the toe growing out of the ground
I FUCKING FOUND IT, It's Hide And Shriek from R.L. Stine you were right
haha. Thanks, fren. That was always my favorite even if it wasn't the creepiest one.
>Angry moms scream imagery too violent for children
>Get it censored
>When far worse available on evening news
I'm coming up.
If it focuses on mood and atmosphere it'll be good. But the trailer and that fucking annoying nighttime green tinted shit cinematography can fucking right off!!!FACT!!! youtu.be
I remember Thomas but who’s Alfred?
Pepperidge Farm members
Or Samuel Blunt.
I just glad Harold is in it. I hope they make a nod to The Thing too. Those two were my favorite stories
Probably very bad, but good enough for fans to be satisfied with it.
I used to show this to everyone in my class in grade 3, and thought it was the edgiest shit ever.
it's a silent "you're welcome"
There are versions of the books with the good art for sale at Walmart now. Thats one good thing the movie has done.
I laughed so hard at this as a kid. Loved the one about the guy going into that abandoned church during the thunderstorm too.
Anyone listen to the audiobook version? The creepy music and narrator were great complements to the pictures.
There was a screening tonight and reactions are online. From what I'm seeing they spent most of the work bringing the creatures from the book to life and that was a huge success. Everyone will have their own favorite depending on fears, something for everyone. The plot is your pretty standard It / Stranger Things knock off. Apparently the PG-13 rating doesn't hurt the movie too much. It's probably what you thought, a good horror director bringing some good Del Toro creatures to life strung together by a flimsy plot. Big sequel hook at the end too apparently.
I'll probably see it for a fun date night but it definitely has bomb written all over it.
El Chado
I smile that way at anybody if it's on the street, whatever race they are, because I don't know them
it's showing the bare minimum of courtesy while without committing to any form of expression towards the person whatsoever
but still most black people I even glance at on the street take it as either an invitation to ask me for something (money, food, cigarettes), or as a fucking act of aggression
to only way to succeed with them is to acknowledge them as little as possible and get the fuck out of there
The books fucked me up bad
>Read vampire one
>Nigga vampire comes to bite girl everynight
>Have a big ass single window that over looks over woods(Live in maine)
>Scared AF 9yr old tweaking out for weeks
>start sleeping in bathroom
>See dads dick one night
>me gay
