is it "Good for SyFy" or is it actually good? I watched two episodes and it seems pretty cheaply made/generic SyFy shlock.

Watched up to episode 7.
It doesn't get good.
The plot moves at a snail's pace, all the scenes are shot on the same three boring stages, almost all the actors are shitskins who can't act.
Yeah, I am gonna go disappointing even by SyFy's standards.
The plot actually has some great and innovative ideas, especially the worldbuilding, but it doesn't even come close to fleshing them out.
Maybe you're just not a fan of scifi. The first ep has lots interesting bits like how ship floors are oriented like buildings so they get simulated gravity as they accelerate and they use mag boots when it stops. How the setting is pretty much just our solar system and lots more. If you're not a little bit interested in these then drop it.
>2 more seasons
fucking based Jeff
It gets better. There's not another world like it so far. If you can get past the wooden acting, the show really pays off the more you watch the characters get better. Plus it's Jeff Bezos passion project, so the new season should be really good
i love hard scifi but i cant get past how cheap it all feels. i appreciate the concepts but the production feels like a bargain bin movie
I feel the opposite, im amazed they can make shit look that good with what must be a low budget
*emotes*
Well it's either this or read the book and it didn't feel cheap to me at all
It actually gets good but not until mid season 2. It doesn't get amazing until late season 3 in my opinion.
>Being so rich you can save your favorite tv shows
jealous honestly.
Taylor Lautner is relentlessly handsome. I want to kiss him relentlessly.
First season is the only “good” season.
oh hoh hey, hey there hoss!
>cheaply made/generic SyFy shlock.
That's what it is. A boring piece of 6/10 shit that almost got cancelled.
Do not trust people who tell you otherwise.
>just watch 20 episodes bro, then it starts getting real good
They have to pretend or fool themselves about it being passable because it's the only show quite like. For them, a little bit of SF is better than none.
They broke Naomi but they made Amos look like a sea captain so im happy
>short hair naomi
They got a bigger budget after the first season. It's still a basic cable series though so you shouldn't expect feature film tier production value.
That said I think the production value is extremely good for a basic cable show.
Season 4 of course looks to be ramping up the budget even more now that it's on Amazon.
I want Season 1 naomi back
By far the best actor on the show
He's the best in whatever he's in tho
Expanse is fucking great, don't listen to tasteless plebes and spergs.
This too. Also the guy who played Miller. his final scene with alium'd Julie is complete and absolute kino
Based hoss poster
short hair does make sense though, it's a lot more practical in zero-g or when wearing a vac suit
True, but i want my brown women looking fem
Agreed, but Thomas Jane and David Strathairn are fantastic too.
Kek, nice. Saved.
It's nothing happens the series.
I was a fookin legend Amos, a fookin legend
Book anons does Amos ever gets a gf? I hope not so i can still relate to him
Also, Drummer is dyke isn't she? No way she's straight
I'm very much interested in the first question as well.
Bamp
This guy single handedly tries to ruin the show.
if you dislike The Expanse you are one of those faggots that wants new SYFY yet when you get it you bitch like a cunt.
See SG:U
If you have no taste that's fine, if you cant follow shows with 20 year plot lines, cool.
If you cant take joy in a show that tries to do more than the typical we space kings star wars / trek well I'm fucking sorry.
Hope you catch a .380 to the GPU fuck you
Syfy great and actually good compared to network tele shit.
Low bar but had it had an actual budget it could have been even better.
Captures the story pretty well compared to the books.
Amos is very well done compared to the books
The lead character James w/e is prolly the worst actor of the bunch but the character in the books is a mary sue so its forgivable. I liked it 8.5/10 its got bezos money for the next 2 seasons? So should be even better. Cant believe they did what they did with Syfy channel budget.
In my head, Murtry was like the Colonel from Avatar, not this dude.
typical answer is to stick with it until episode 4, it gets better after that, first couple episodes are world building. the first season is overall a bit rough, the first half of season 2 is 10/10 though
Amos is a trauma induced sociopath. He gets a kinda sorta gf friend with no benefits and just fucks whores.
