The beauty of Sharl's quick laps is that he does 1, maybe 2 adjustments on steering wheel the whole lap and still maximizes, which is way less than others. He did that even last two years, whereas most drivers go for 4-5 changes. Feels more organic

It's not a new rule. They justified banning it by pointing out some phrase in the regs about not braking/accelerating too eratically and not doing anything needlessly dangerous under safety car.
