HBO contracts you to adapt a sci-fi book series as a tv series as the successor to the scope, potential, and popularity of Game of Thrones.
What series do you pick and how are you going to adapt it? Who will produce it?

dude titties n gore lmao

Gaunts Ghosts

Foundation is good but has a lot of breaks in continuity since it's covering 1000 years. I would rather adapt I, Robot's universe and how the Spacers came to be the royal class of the subserviant Earth dwellers. No converse commercials, no Will Smith, just real drama exploring the three laws of robotics and explaining the zeroth law.

A WH40k book series as serious HBO adaptation?
That is either terrible or incredible

Isn't this being adapted?

I googled it and apparently Apple is going to adapt it. Interesting, not sure about the producers though.

This but just starting at the Elijah Bailey stuff rather than a series of short stories. Easier to keep general audiences hooked with a robot buddy cop story and we’ll still get to sink our teeth into the robot laws exploration.

I pick the absolute worst series ever written and I do everything in my power to sabotage and delay production while avoiding getting fired for as long as possible. Wasting corporate money with no return on the investment would be my goal.

The television and film board is truly a great and fitting place for your anti-corporate rhetoric.

Chronicles of Amber but it's an anime.

Cast Idris Elba as Hari Seldon.

The BBC radio play was considered a great success as they go.

I'd do it as an animated cel cartoon

>Book of the new sun.
But the probability of catastrophically fucking it up is very high because one of the exercises for the reader is working out what is being referred to (in 20/21st century terms) vs. how they see it. The picture of Neil Armstrong is obvious for example, what the "miners" are up to and what the executioner's guild actually is (etc etc etc) less so.

Buck Rogers is one that would work, but I'd hate to see HBO screw it up with forced diversity casting.
>e.g. Cast Idris Elba as 'Buckwheat Rogers'

The time has come and so have I

Is Idris Elba the new "we need a black man" replacement for Samuel Jackson?
