Got some good replies giving reactions by his costars and fellow celebrities. Then, bam, three day bam because a post about a celebrity's career isn't relevant to their career. Come back after the ban and sure enough I see Smollett threads for weeks, and none of them even get removed. But that's life I guess.

If you get bans and evade by changing your ip, eventually you get an ip rangeban or a file upload range ban. And the ip range bans have gotten much more aggressively. For example it used to be that you could change your ip 25 times before seeing a range ban, whereas now you may see one after changing it just a few times. This of course also depends on isp and location.

Why report? You go to all that effort and they either ignore you and do nothing, they get rid of the thread but the guy doesn't get banned and goes back to making the exact same thread (or shittier ones out of sheer spite), or they ban him but he just ban evades and again makes the same thread or worse? At some point, even the dullest of individuals would realize the pointlessness of it. Even you can see how silly you're being, right?

I wasn't talking ban evasion but rather just the fact that a few days off Yea Forums(nel) isn't a bad thing. But yeah, I've seen a ton of people ban evade. I really don't know how effective they are against it, but I imagine it'd be pretty well impossible to really detect given that people have access to multiple sources of internet and devices capable of using the internet. I have noticed, when I go to hotels and other places with free wifi, they're sometimes (but not always) range blocked, which is just annoying for people like me who are just trying to use Yea Forums legitimately. Meanwhile the guy who got banned at that hotel is long gone.
