1st season is a teen drama slog, starting with season 2 it becomes a proper serial thriller and occasional scifi horror show, season 2 ends with the MC knowingly and willingly causing a genocide
After that the show challenges itself by finding new and inventive ways to punish and make its characters suffer, misery porn lite if you will.
Past season 1 the seasons range from great to ok, main characters die left and right, overall it's a decent show, that first season though...
