I graduated with a Finance degree and made a huge mistake by working at a non-profit fresh out of college (because I didn't want to work like a slave) and now it is extremely difficult to transfer to the private sector. I also discovered working full time sucks no matter where you go so you might as well make money.

Working at a Big 4 firm will add credibility to your resume and allow you much more options down the road in your career. Suck it up and put in 2-3 years there then move on like most people for a higher paying job.

It's difficult to make tons of money if you stick strictly to hardcore accounting.

If you really want to make money you need to get a base in accounting or financial planning maybe 7-10 years then get into a director position of some kind that oversees more than just accounting, it would include other aspects of financial operations, then go on to a CFO or VP position where you can pull 180-200 or even 250 if you get into a really good position.

It won't be that bad. I had the exact same thought process as you and it ended up costing me a lot of extra effort down the line. Working full time sucks no matter what you do. The marginal difference isn't that bad and will payoff big time.
