Vin is justifibly pissed off because The Rock has been stealing the show since Fast Five. Then Paul Walker died and it really made everything worse. Vin Diesel has been running the show with this franchise for years and became a producer on the last five films. Universal needs him because these movies always make serious money. He doesn't want The Rock in his movies anymore but Universal needs Litty Johnson also to make these movies big. Universal thought they could keep The Rock happy by giving him a spin-off. Now the movie has shit the bed and isn't very good. This makes Vin Diesel's franchise look bad and even delayed his next film. Diesel feels like The Rock is fucking up his gravy train and he just did fuck it up. I'd be pissed too.

Honestly, that has nothing to do with Hobbs and Shaw. It's more that the franchise is getting TOO ridiculous for some. 8 rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with some of its scenes and they will feel the consequences until they tone it down some.

Honestly, they could use another Tokyo Drift. Something that returns the series back to simple car culture and let the cars themselves be the ridiculous parts of the film.
