When does school start for you OP?

I'm guessing Tate was Tarantino's waifu growing up, and Margot Robbie reminds him of her.

Generic eye candy

Feet

Build tension for those expecting her murder.

she is what a woman should be, graceful, bubbly, genial, kind, and dedicated to her work as opposed to the other women in the film (except leos wife) who are shallowly manipulated into thinking none of that matters and they are being repressed by "pigs". also notice that all the film industry people are super nice.

its an indictment of third wave feminism in my opinion. take note of the lena dunham role

muh dick is the reason

to show off her sexy feet duh

>lena dunham
He should have cast her as one of the home invaders at the end

she wasn’t bad necessarily but was pretty boring in this picture. Still a decent movie though. And she was excellent in i Tonya

webm?

Fuck no, I wouldn't want Lena to have the satisfaction of getting a great movie death. I think it's just perfect that she's now immortalized as a frumpy fat hippy.

nah she was the 'house mom' type. it was very telling how she was all smiles and courteous until brad was gonna go in the house. you could see her face figuratively change to a hideous demon.

So Quentin could fap to her feet.

Represents the supposed Hollywood idyll.

You know Tarantino is weird that way. He's very progressive but at the same time he's clearly a nostalgic who resents current society and norms. A really odd contradiction.

has roman polanski said how he feels about once upon a time in hollywood yet?

yes, thats really him in a nutshell and he's really genius about it. i dont think i can trust the film opinions of anyone who doesnt appreciate him.

I don't think he's a progressive at all, he still lives in the 70s

The fact that she never does anything to contribute to the main story is my main gripe with the movie. She is completely absent from the ending. I would have been more satisfied if she was the one talking to Leo at the end. Having her not fulfill her purpose of being murdered subverted my expectations in a way that felt totally meaningless. And if you didn’t know the history of what happened then her point in the film is completely baffling. At least when QT changed history by having the Basterds kill Hitler it served the story and brought that films story to a close. I enjoyed the movie all the way until it was over, but upon reflection I don’t find it memorable or satisfying. Maybe there is a longer cut of it that works better.

>And if you didn’t know the history of what happened then her point in the film is completely baffling.
I think most people interested in seeing a Hollywood nostalgia movie like "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood" are going to be aware of the Tate murder. When it comes to Hollywood crimes the big three are The Black Dahlia, Manson Family, and OJ Simpson.

>I enjoyed the movie all the way until it was over, but upon reflection I don’t find it memorable or satisfying.
To be honest I was feeling that way too, it wasn't until I thought about the title that the truth hit it. It's called "Once Upon A Time..." because it's a fairy tale. It's not about the monsters, and boy are there a lot of monsters. We have Cliff who the film likely infers murdered his wife ala Natalie Wood (and he's the hero!), we have Roman Polanski a child rapist, and we've got ol Charlie Manson who ultimately just has a cameo.

This isn't a thriller or a drama, it's about Rick Dalton, it's about accepting that good times don't last forever.

he loves niggas to much

"27"

Cinematic image juxtaposition, particularly the scene where she’s watching the actual Sharon Tate on screen in the movie theater. That’s a literal juxtaposition. Sorry you’re visually illiterate, guess you should just stick to video games or circle jerking over the written word with the rest of the illiterate monkeys

Essential for the ending to work

I can smell all the cat shit and piss coming from that woman's studio apartment.

her role low key is kind of one of a fairy godmother, wherever she goes she brings good fortune and optimism, she is almost an arbitor of daltons career and self esteem at the end, as if he was summoned to enter by the queen into a new realm of hollywood, which is what he wanted to return too

My rough thoughts are that her life represented the ideal Hollywood life that Rick wanted. She was totally happy, successful, and got to watch her movies and see other people digging her work. The murders snuffed out that light, along with that era of Hollywood.

I disagree with I think the ending worked really well. The movie is a fairy tale about Hollywood that uses a real story to explore the ups and downs of that world. In the end after Rick and Cliff change the flow of time, the era that Sharon Tate represented is kept intact and they are given a chance to get their foot in the door and give new life to their careers. Tate inviting Rick in was the perfect way to end it, as he overcame his ordeal and "ascends" to a happy ending, along with everyone else.

i say this and i really dont usually like tarantino, this and bastards are the only filmos of his i like, i have seen h8 tho

He loves blaxploitation, not the current current politically correct zeitgeist of light skin black women smiling in a Gap commercial.

>circle jerking over the written word
>illiterate
based schizo

So glad I pirated this shit instead of paying to see it at the theater. I already had low expectations due to Tarantino, but it was probably one of the worst films I have ever seen. Completely pointless, self-indulgent pastiche with the obligatory Nazi killing and foot fetishism thrown in for good measure.

VISUALLY illiterate, which I suppose, sadly you are as well. O’ the pity I feel for one such as thee

>one of the worst films I have ever seen
piratefags always sound the same

Attached: 1528664437978.gif (380x285, 1.97M)

Brad Pitts scenes alone are better than 90 percent of movies. The film was also shoot beautifully; I can see how someone could I dig the plot but to say it is bad movie retarted

Being a fucking kike? Her mother, Sarie Kessler (an Ashkenazi surname) is a Psychotherapist. Coincidence?

God what would I give to kiss those thighs.

She's eye candy

Correct answer

Given the prevailing identity politics of Yea Forums I'd normally call projection, but I have to agree withHe's obviously progressive for the most part, but I think he still holds on to an old school nostalgia for the post WWII gender roles. But then again, Jackie Brown refutes that but the film is more second wave feminist.

to show off her GORGEOUS soles

Attached: 1352641795525.png (191x234, 5K)

The hippy girl's feet were 100x better

no? margeret's feet are really beat up and misshapen and weird. margot's soles are built for sex.

the problem isnt the jews or the niggers. the problem is footfags. they need to be executed

Give hateful eight another try, imo it's his best.

as long as it's death by endless face trampling. emma stone, margo robbie, gal gadot, and olivia wilde each get one hour of unrelenting face trampling and jumping barefoot on my face until i die. they keep rotating each hour until im dead.

I think this movie cured any part of me that had a foot fetish. In the past I could enjoy looking at nice pretty clean feet. But now I think of this movie and see Margot Robbie's filthy dirty covered feet and wanna wretch.

Why? Margot's feet are really pretty.

this

Attached: Good-Bye_p183.png (1250x1800, 276K)

To show her teeth in every shot, to act wooden and to fulfil her side of the bargain after a gangbang with the producers while Tarantino watched

It’s funny, I have absolutely 0 (zero) sexual attraction to feet. I can’t even force my mind to see them sexually. I don’t see it. When I see these feet I just picture someone that’s been walking around in dirt, but I know there a people out there picturing her using those feet to step on their face and cock or something. I just don’t get it footfags

This

i don't care much about the dirt. i just find the shape of her soles to be stunning. for me it's a visual thing. soles can be really beautiful and sexy.

Well, Brad Pitt was the highlight of the entire film. I found the flashback with his wife and the speargun mildly amusing, but everything else was entirely disposable:
>Brad Pitt driving
>Brad Pitt feeding his dog
>Brad Pitt standing on a roof with his shirt off
>Brad Pitt engaged in fight with a Bruce Lee parody
>Brad Pitt valiantly resisting the urge to have sex with jailbait
>Brad Pitt beating up a scrawny hippie
>Brad Pitt smoking an LSD-laced cigarette (utterly retarded as anyone who knows anything about LSD knows that it is destroyed by heat)

How is any of this remotely interesting? Everything about the movie was entirely one-dimensional. There is not a single moment of tension or suspense. There is no nuance or subtlety in any of the characterizations. Good cinematography, competent acting, and a few brief moments of humor does not a masterpiece make. I simply can't understand how so many people can think it was anything other than a waste of time. An ode to degeneracy like The Wolf on Wall Street comes across as the height of Cinema by comparison.

You never had a foot fetish, you were just a bandwaggoning redditor

If you couldn’t pick up on the Arthurian mythic cinematic image juxtapositions and the commentary on subjectivity-ultra-subjectivity, objectivity and the oddness of a creation of a fantasy— you’re just simply visually illiterate and you can’t understand the medium of film. You cannot ‘read’ films, which has nothing to with ‘symbolism’ ‘subtext’ or ‘hidden messages’ it’s a clear direct cinematic image juxtaposition. I’ll give you a hint, the Manson family is basically goblins or mountain bandits, Cliff Booth is a squire, Rick Dalton is a wealthy famous knight (or prince), cowboy stories are just repackaged knights and wizards fantasy tales

>Tarantino film
>Arthurian mythic cinematic image juxtapositions and the commentary on subjectivity blah blah blah
Cringe

interesting thoughts, whether you're memeing or not

You’re visually illiterate and you can’t think for yourself, your Pop cultural preconceived conceptions set a limit on your development of thought, like a funko pop doll trapped in its case, that’s your neurological capabilities. Tarantino doesn’t SEEM ‘visually accomplished’ (reddit terminology) enough to make the type of movie that my post described, and since you probably are barely even cognitively active even while watching a film, you fill in the blanks with a typical normies preconceived conception. Cinematic image juxtapositions you cannot pick up on, like a 5 year old confused by an adults conversation because he can’t understand all the words. The visually illiterate truly disgust me.

tismos don't understand how a character is built

Bait and switch. We know in reality that she died horribly. When she lives, it proves that what Tarantino told us was a Hollywood faerie tale.

It was cool they showed the real Tate in the in-theatre film.

just look at her

i also want to mention that

the cult lives on a movie set. but theyre not in a movie.

they're taking direction from someone not in the scene. but they're not actors.

but they're marks are the people that work on sets and act for directors.

qt is very clever

God bless you I can’t wait till an HD shot is released

this is a solid critique, but i think thats what tarantino was going for.

Lol ur gay bruh.

They really lived at Spahn's Ranch, and they really took directions from Charlie, and they really killed people who work in movies.

Okay.

Cute

What is is with Tortallini with blondes and feet?

It’s so funny to me that Tarantino is the worlds most prominent foot fetishist but has objectively bad taste in feet

yea i get that but these elements were underlined in the story. there were other elements of the manson murders such as the music connection that didn't feature in the story. obviously for a reason.

To look sexy and by God she did

i reject your hypothesis

Well. As an person who has grown up knowing about Manson and the murders...it was a build to the finale. Also her was showing how pure, hopeful, and how much future she had. Obvious quentin loved her. And in the end. He had cliff bash their fuckin heads in a leo torch them assholes.

So sweet to know in this universe tate and all her friends who died with her on that day lived. And they invite the hasbeen actor. But in ways i think this film is the most about tarantino. He knows his journey is ending, he knows cinema has changed.

>You'll never bash her skull in and torch her body.

Why live?

Attached: Mikey+Madison+FX+Networks+TCA+2016+Summer+RgXeQ3ltUv_l.jpg (400x600, 47K)

She does. Youre just a fucking idiot who cant see it and needs to be forced feed a plot. Go back to dceu and the snyder cut. Bitch.

>He knows his journey is ending, he knows cinema is ending.
Fixed. Once China becomes the main audience for films man is film fucked.

True

my bad, im saying i didnt see it yet, hopefully you are right

Do women like her still exist? Genuinely kind, graceful, sweet, and beautiful?

Uhh China already is, that's why capeshit reigns supreme these days.

i kind of like how he seemed like a noble man but also gave this mysterious reserved danger bottled with him which he sporadically let loose but in the end he may of actually been a good man, that beggining scene where the camera backs up from the pic and then backs up with the care was beautifully done, i love when films have a great opening credits shot

I was thinking this too

the film actually depicts three different professional experiences in hollywood, tate enjoys it thoroughly and is on cloud 9 just enjoying the ride, dalton is ebbing and flowing feeling the waves of stardom and work quality, and cliff is more or less living by the skin of his teeth and is subject to authority over him that dictates his finance yet as an individual, psychologically he is the most free, and the most robust, he like tate, even though both at different spectrums of experience are just enjoying the ride

>if not for those pesky statutory rape laws
What did it mean by this?

Why doesn't Tarantula just embrace streaming? He should relish the opportunity to make a miniseries or a full-on show. I rewatched the Kill Bill films recently and thought that they would have worked better as a series.

Cinema isn't made for Kikeflix tier filthy platforms.

Tarantino's got hours of B-roll of those soles for his private spank bank.

get f'd you cuck.

>tfw i didnt' and still don't know the background story of the manson murders so I took a piss during one of her scenes
