Every single one of them seems to love the club and if you followed the whole Wijnaldum contract stuff it was very clear that he wanted to, and still wants to play for the club. The only current player you could point to is Salah, but he's been open about only having a desire to play for Liverpool and the contract mess seems to be more due to his agent instead of him.

Same reason Man Utd are a meme team: Irish diaspora. Basically half the island of Ireland is Liverpool supporters and the other half are Man Utd supporters because of the heavy Irish immigration to those cities in the past and the cultural ties they still feel. The same is true for my Irish relatives who immigrated to the UK and are po supporters in London.

My dad spent the first 20 years of his life living 500 yards away from Goodison and supporting Everton. He moved to Chester, had me and took me to dozens of Everton games every year for the rest of his life. Therefore, to this day I support Everton. I go to loads of Chester games too but it really pisses me off that people act like I have no right to support Everton just because I never lived there when I'd probably been to 20 games before I could walk

I became a fan since 2005 when my HS was red and white and Liverpool was red and white and Gerard was their CM and wore #8. Just like me, all my friends liked United because their club travel team was something United and mimicked their jerseys so I started being a follower out of spite as well as the cool similarity. I’m not a big or real fan. I’m fact I stopped watching all together since they started kneeling. But it was nice to have a side to kind of follow during the champions league and watching the Premier League on NBC on Sunday mornings with my coffee after I Jack off when I wake up before I eat my cheeseburgers.

I feel lonely as no one else really likes Liverpool or cares in my neck of the woods (literally I live in the woods) but I was told ILL NEVER WALK ALONE so it’s okay
