>Wire develops large cast of interesting character throughout it's first 4 seasons
>Spend ~60% of the last Season on McNulty doing some retarded shit and some unlikable newspaper losers

the last season went wrong in so many ways, mcnulty should've stayed as a minor character

>mcnulty should've stayed as a minor character
? He was the closest thing the series had to a main character through all 5 seasons.

why did it need one? he was tons of development trough three seasons with a satisfying conclusion and season 4 did great without him

he had*
through*
don't worry I'm going to bed soon

>sydnor and kima become mcnulty
>mike becomes omar
>carcetti becomes royce
>duquan becomes bubbles
what else did I miss?

also, did marlo go back to the street or not? did he just go out to get one last taste before the election or did the show imply that he was going to tear the deal with levy and ronnie down?

>mfw bubbles makes it in the end

Okay seriously
This guy's voice kinda sounds like McNutty's, right? I'm not crazy?
Please

the newspaper storyline was such bullshit. none of the characters were complex in any way, they just wore their attributes on their sleeves. Gus is the only likeable one and he's just blandly noble, everyone else was portrayed as cowardly little shits since Simon had such an axe to grind against the Sun

it was just simon jerking himself off, gus was an obvious self insert
also alma was plenty likable, she stuck up for gus

Bubbles is such a faggot, it would've been way better if they had Chris or someone kill him in Season 3 or 4

Fat kid is prop joe

No offense but this is kind of a brainlet way of looking at it, the point isn't Mike becomes the new Omar the point is the cycle of hopelessness in Baltimore is constantly repeating itself, there's always gonna be a new kingpin, new junkies, new stick up kids etc etc

I got a far reaching one. Namond will become Bunk. Just like Bunk, he and the people around him realizes he's not cut out for the street work and instead he focuses his efforts into non-criminal success. Influenced by his foster-father's previous line of work he could go down this path. A few decades later of alcohol consumption, cynicism and a more matured obsession of fashion you got the new Bunk

Also, Alma becomes Gus.

Well duh, and we are talking about what examples illustrates this point.

I don't really see Little Kevin getting back in the game.

Unironically neck yourself.

he said kid, Little Kevin is like 25 (like most "young uns" in the show)

I was joking, but seriously though - what fat kid?

Yeah I meant the foster kid, I guess I remember him being chubbier
