Why is gore almost non existent in horror now it feels like I have to hunt it down to find good gorehound flicks nowadays
Why is gore almost non existent in horror now it feels like I have to hunt it down to find good gorehound flicks...
Same reason most horror movies are rated pg-13 these days
It's more marketable this way
>OP hasn't seen Bone Tomahawk.
psychological thrillers are all the rage these days
and cheep jumpscare garbage never dies even though everybody claims to hate it
This
Lower rating means more people and kids can watch it.
Gore worked when.there was no internet
You had no access to gore any other way
Now even instagram has pictures and video of real autopsies.... any 12 year old can see cartel executions on liveleak.
Whats the point of making a rubber fake gore effect when theres real gore everywhere.
And most gore now is cgi like the walking dead.
Besides gore in movies is for childish immature edgy boys that have shitty taste.
Are you a teenager by any chance, op?
Because it's the second most obvious sign of a hack.
Unnecessary nudity being the first.
This.
When it's so accessible or even pervasive it loses it's "value"
Chinese markets dont want it
>Gore? No thanks. I prefer a slow-burn, atmospheric horror film that titillates the senses.
tcm2 sux
When will this meme die
then why do movies have fake sex scenes
any kid can go online and see real sex
sex in movies is for childish immature virgin boys that have shitty taste
your logic doesnt really hold up
It’s almost as if not wanting gore makes you a normal well adjusted person. Have sex incel
Ironically a lot LESS movies have sex scenes.
You Literally proved my point. We dont really get movies like american pie anymore. We still have tits and nudity but yes. You are correct. Sex scenes are not being used as much anymore.
Whats your point? You are still a retarded edgy child if you want gore and sex in movies.
not even a meme schizo just got away from the tard wrangeler
The important thing is that you fed him some attention.
Like the other user said, there's a noticeable decrease in sex scenes in movies that seems to correspond to the increasing availability of porn.
Tom Savini was a photographer in Vietnam during the war...I think he wanted to use his experience to advance visual effects past the laughably bad fx of the time. My point being he wasn’t a manchild or a hack, anyway I’m not a fan of gore but people find it fun, and practical effects when used well can be jarring, it’s also more satisfying than the cg crap.
After years Mexican cartel and Brazilian favela videos even the most detailed movie gore just looks kind of silly desu
Savini has said that when he does FX, he wants it to look real -- or as real -- to his eyes since he actually experienced it.
Eitherway, gore is good in small doses and can be effective. When it's overdone, like the gore craze in the 00s, it's just a marketing gimmick.
>bone tomahawk represents the state of the horror genre in the past decade
Except Bone Tomahawk is, you know, good.
If you don't want gore then why watch a horror film? Try the Avengers or some DisneySoylent film instead, it might be more your speed.
Gore is not scary it's just disgusting
what are some bone heating fast burn horror flicks
>gore isnt scary it's just disgusting
based keep up the good work
a24soylentsaday shills SEETHING
Well yeah the walking dead has realistic gore when it is not cgi.the zombies look like real corpses when they go all out.
But the gif OP used is silly gore. Like SAW or something
Signs had zero gore and it gave mw nightmares for weeks as a teen. Not everything works with gore.
It depends on the story and the director.
Gore is just fun and the Argument, that you can see real gore online is fucking idiotic.
Real gore most of the times are accidents, which could happen to anybody, so not fun. Cartel shit is just plain torture.
This once again the internet had ruined things
Op asked why movies dont have gore.
Gore loses its shock value in modern times.
Thats the point. It doesnt shock like before. It isnt as shocking. It doesnt have the power it had
Cabin in The Woods was gruesome as fuck. And that movie is supposed to be satire to horror flicks.
I'll excuse your lack of reading comprehension this time.
Indeed Bone Tomahawk is good, that's why I used the greentext as a sarcastic remark. What I meant is the exact opposite, meaning that Bone Tomahawk doesn't actually represent the state of the horror genre right now, thus being an exception and not disproving what OP said about good gore movies being "almost non existent" nowadays.
