Is this worth watching? Does it hold up to breaking Bad?
Better call Saul
It's the best show currently airing.
Huh alright
The plot/character development pace is slower than the latter seasons of Breaking Bad, but still faster than the first ones. In short? It holds up, yes.
it's better than breaking bad.
Better Call Saul is very good.
Lol no
Its shit
Brainlet here. Why?
I FUCKING HATE THE HACK THAT MADE THE MISSLEADING SHIT IN OP DID THE FUCKING MORON EVEN WATCH THE SEASON?
i just now realised that i had caps on but i'll leave it as it is because i feel it portrais how strongly i mean what i wrote
It's a pleb filter. If you don't like your shows to take their time developing their characters then it's not for you, if you've got good taste however you should definitely watch it.
MAGNA FARTA
it's fantastic. especially after re watching breaking bad, that show was too fucking memey and reddity. every single scene meme compliments the other scene memes it's fucking insuffreable
Better Call Saul is superior to Breaking Bad in every way. It has actual depth and doesn't rely on Reddit dialogue and meme explosions. It's the thinking man's show. It is a focused character study that makes us question the very foundation of morals. Breaking Bad was literally fedora teenage power fantasy made for intellectually challenged plebs.
It doesn't use edgy wish fulfillment as a crutch. It's pure character study and legit drama as opposed to contrived exploitative scarface shit.
It's superior to almost everything out there. It's like a fantastic novel. It unravels slowly but every beat in the plot is on fucking point. Marvellous and peak writing for sure. Great fucking directing, great fucking acting. One of the few real 10/10 shows out there.
nope. It's boring and tries way too hard to emulate Breaking Bad to the point where its pitiful.
Slow and when you watch it you may want things to speed up but when considering the whole picture it's very good.
Highly recommend binging season and not watching each ep every week as the wait makes the slow pace hard to tolerate
Its shit
its a bone chilling slow burn
when I saw Tuco I clapped bc I remember that guy!
It really is shit
it's super slow that when i finished 2 seasons i never came back
>question the very foundation of morals
really bro you did this after watching a TV show? please for your own sake never enter into any earthly conflict whatsoever
Its shit
This is a very homosexual and Reddit comment
must be hard being so fucking dense
Yes, if you like the character.
I gave up halfway through season two. I usually like a slow burn but I kind of hate everything about the show so there's no incentive for me to see how it unravels. The main thing people talk about after each episode are the cameos from minor Breaking Bad characters that show up in Mike's storyline. I concede that Mike's storyline is a lot more interesting than Jimmy's but that's not saying much.
It's nothing like Breaking Bad. Why you think the pea-brained normalfags hated it so much?
It's just as wildly unrealistic as Breaking Bad, but in a less flashy way. For example, there's a character called Kim who is pretty much the perfect woman, but is also white. Honestly, every time she's on-screen it completely takes me out of the show.
It's better
It's better than BB and easily the best show on TV at the moment, but Yea Forums can't handle it because it requires an actually attention span. Too hard to follow for the Capeshit and GoT zoomers.
started off 8/10 and showing a lot of promise, slowly dwindled to 5/10 as it became obvious the showrunners were desperately trying the stretch out the few ideas they had to keep their cushy jobs for 15 more seasons. I stopped watching but I assume it's only going further downhill since. it could've been good if everyone involved wasn't creatively bankrupt.
it doesn't try to emulate breaking bad at all, don't be a retard.
>It's superior to almost everything out there. It's like a fantastic novel. It unravels slowly but every beat in the plot is on fucking point. Marvellous and peak writing for sure. Great fucking directing, great fucking acting. One of the few real 10/10 shows out there.
:O
fourth post best post
It'd be nice if something happened in the show though.
>the absolute mental state of americans
stuff happens all the time you fucking retard.
>stuff happens all the time you fucking retard.
oof...
but not enough things to make shocked reaction faces to on youtube, that's how most zoomers 'watch' these shows now.
this
>i can't watch the burlington bar react so how will i know how to react?
First post BETTER post.
Realistically it's probably hands down the absolute most soi show airing on tv now or ever airing at any point in time in the history of tv shows.
>stuff happens all the time you fucking retard.
Just nothing interesting.
It is terrible. The slowest burn in tv history that leads to absolutely nothing.
Quads don't lie. Better Call Soi BTFO.
But it has a meme explosion user
Also car crashes and shootouts
DEFECATED
I found it to be very spooky paced and boring, and his girlfriend Kim absolutely sucks.
>doesn't rely on Reddit dialogue and meme explosions
Except it does rely on Reddit dialogue and exchanges meme explosions for meme slow burn and meme character development
The last episode I saw was the one where Jimmy filmed the commercial for seniors. His boss called him and yelled at him, then Kim yelled at him. I realized I didn't like any of the characters and I didn't care about anything that was going on. What a fucking bore. Mike's scenes were generally more exciting but felt like bad Breaking Bad fanfiction.
>same visual style
>same writing style
>same characters
>same main character development
>same music montages
No, nothing like Breaking Bad
>it's not reddit dialogue
>no it is reddit dialogue
literally meaningless.
>literally meaningless.
Just like BCS dialogue
Yeah, 4 seasons of Jimmy deciding whether or not to scam the seniors, then doing something amoral, arguing with his friends and family, feeling sorry for what he did, reconciling with them and then doing it again next season is really lazy writing.
But hey, it's a masterpiece according to people here.
It's hot floppy feces.
Meme opinion
marshmellow brain. go watch some supernatual then
I dropped it by S2, are you telling me that S3 and 4 are yet more of the same shit we had up to that point? Without him turning into fucking Saul Goodman already and starting up some schemes?
better call saul just had a big reddit shootout with the cousins last season you retard. it even had an explosion
Yep and they have pretty much stated that he never will. It’s a practical joke at this point, see how many idiots they can get to waste their time. The people defending the show are victims of sunken cost and at this point will never leave the slot machines until they are broke.
I dropped it after season 3. I was lurking season 4 threads here deciding weather or not to continue watching it, but even anons who loved the show were not really overjoyed with it.
>show catches up with the events of Breaking Bad
>every time he was offscreen he was actually doing a 180Âş, closing down his business and regretting everything before briefly coming back to being Saul whenever he meets up with Jesse/Walter again
I love breaking bad, this eventually became better.
It really isn't
No wonder why should many anons describe it as "nothing happens, the show"
Gus and Hector are not as interesting to me and the more it catches up with BB the less I care.
I AM THE DANGER
Edit: thanks for the gold, good sir!
It's different from BB, but still good I think
I like it. Doesn't have near the amount of fast pace action as breaking bad, but it still has the vibe of the normal well to do American raising a bit of hell, and scraping into the grime that is the residue of the residue of the criminal underworld.
>all these glue-sniffing Fortnite kiddies saying "nothing happened"
Feels good that our crimekino is filtering out the underage
nice singles
>S'ALL GOOD MAN
I clapped and cried.
it has the best girl.
it's good
see
It's not that they're lazy, it's that they're greedy and lazy.
It's better than BB. But plebs get mad if you mention that.
Based
>like a 5 minute long show of mike eating pistachios
>10 mintues of him taking apart a car
i cannot believe they get away with this, i love this show
but i feel like the whole thing is kind of lacking in long term goal or something for anyone to do, they're all kind of doing these short them 2-3 episode long plotlines that aren't really that connected
But Jimmy's feud with his brother was fucking great and it has a lot of cool shit. I like Nacho a lot too but that Lalo guy is so wacky and out of place so far
pleb, filtered
>IMDB Goofs
>Revealing mistakes
>In the first episode of the second season there's a single frame where Mike Ehrmantraut is briefly seen with a look of less than complete aloofness
>same character development
hardly. walter was corrupted, saul was always a piece of shit
Its fucking lame how the new season doesn't start until next year
all of the jimmy scenes are good but all of the cartel nonsense views like a watered down breaking bad. the shows should've been decoupled but in the same universe.
there has to be a few reddit explosions now and then or else the BBabies wouldnt watch it and the show would die
Where's the soijak poster when you most need him?
>Explosions? No I prefer slow burn character development
>liking anything that isnt explosions and fucktarded fight scenes and supervillain bullshit like everything the cartel does in the show is soi
i don't give a shit about any of the mike stuff
i fucking love the saul and chuck stuff
kim is my waifu
It's a decent enough show. Vince knows how to put together a show. It doesn't reach the same level as BB though. Vince is over-endulging and dragging things out needlessly. Plus there's a bit too much of "remember this?!?" callbacks that don't add to the story.
>take the worst character from BB
>make a show about him
What do you think?
definitely, it feels a lot more deliberate grounded and real than breaking bad and it's what makes me give it the slight edge over BB. Probably the best spinoff of all time?
Ahem.
Name literally 1 (one) thing he did wrong
>nyuh... that's right...

>yep, miltary grade, these guys'll tear through consumer stuff in a week, wultuh...
>mmmmhm...

>jus get it done
>*snaps phone in half*
He hated his brother because he thought Jimmy was stealing from the till when in reality it was their father constantly giving money to deadbeats that was cleaning them out. The foundation of his hatred of his brother was built on his own ignorance.
jimmy was also stealing from the till
Remember this? It's a prequel for christ's sake
Oh man the redditfugees aren't going to like this one.
How is he still alive at this point? Walt shot him and he's 80 or something
You literally see Jimmy steal from the till on screen.
>breaking bad good better call saul bad
Both brothers had something the other lacked. Jimmy didn't have Chuck's moral fortitude, intelligence, and prestige. Chuck didn't have Jimmy's charisma and magnetic personality even though he is by all respects a failure. This is why he was repulsed when Jimmy became a lawyer because then Chuck would have no choice but to measure himself to Jimmy. The reality came clear as day when Jimmy charmed his wife and was the last word his mother spoke.
LANTERNS ON NEWSPAPERS
Elderly guys pretending to be 30-somethings.
Became total shit after his brother died. Story is going nowhere and is basically filler. People just want to know what happens because of Breaking Bad being the sequel.
Facts
shut up Chuck
>Is this worth watching?
meh
>Does it hold up to breaking Bad?
HAHAHAHAHAHA! no. it's breaking bad for boring pseuds
first season is some of television's finest but then it declines afterwards
Take the smarter half of Breaking Bad's fanbase. Make them more patient, less mentally ill, and more productive. Make them more mature and artful. This is your average BCS fan. This is empirical fact. Of the two shows, the fans who prefer Breaking Bad are younger, more immature, high rates of mental illness, more likely to be autistic and suffer from both BPD and ADHD. Not saying they aren't good people or that they're stupid people. They're certainly not that type of people that you'd ever want to interact with or like...procreate with but they're not bad people just for having inferior tastes and hygiene standards.
it's boring as shitttt
You’re an incredibly stupid bastard arent you?
Not supporting his brother.
Bob Odenkirk has a natural charisma, whenever he's on the screen it makes you feel good
it's really interesting to see him in a dramatic role after shit like mr. show or tim & eric.
No
Is mike a mary sue?
no he fucked up really bad with Lalo and Walt.
>never got the money to Kaylee
>let the Germans escape
>let his boss die
>gets shot
Not really
season 1 is kino, but once it goes mike heavy and starts turning into an even shitter breaking bad just dump it.
best show, good characters, comfy interesting story with vinces signature cinematography. you literally can't go wrong with it. i'd even go so far saying that it's better than some cult classic tv shows that have came out not going to name them to avoid any butthurt. but just go and watch it.
---WORD OF WARNING THOUGH---
there is very little action scenes, this is not action tv show. but there is exciting and dangerous stuff happening.
also adding to previous message; this show filters plebs and ADD kids like hell. you will not stand a chance against it if you're pleb or (man)child with attention paying problems
It's kino. It's different, but I possibly enjoy it even more.
I like the soundtrack so much that I listen to Chris Joss now.
HE DEFECATED THROUGH A SUNROOF!
It's second to The Young Pope as top shows people here overrate to pretend they have good taste. It's still okay though.
very good but certainly flawed
just like breaking bad
I like BB and Better Call Saul pretty much equally.
