>In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino draws a world where two white, cisgender, heterosexual males (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt) were able to protect Tate through a series of chance. In avoiding the tragedy, Tarantino reaches a satisfying conclusion.
>However, the conclusion was reached by murdering those young adults — two of them young women — in a comedic and explosively violent manner. The so-called Manson girls had been brainwashed by a madman. While they're certainly responsible for their own actions, it seems short-sighted to mark them strictly as villains worthy of slaughter. Even more distressing is the fact that violence against women is generally played for laughs in a Tarantino picture.
Tarantino uses violence against everyone as a punchline, why is it an issue when it's female murderers
Gabriel Collins
Man, even as a niggerloving faggot, based Tarantula still manages to dab on roasties, chinks, niggers and the like.
Jason Hughes
No one cares about SJW outrage articles.
Ian Martinez
Because muh womyn are sacred creatures that can't be shown with any faults on screen ever.
Jace Ward
>implying this isn’t the majority view Look at social media
Jason Perry
I remember a "brainwashed" man being brutally mauled to death in that scene too. How odd, the """journalist""" must have forgotten about that character!
Michael Hernandez
the sad part is tarantino is blatantly way worse than harvey weinstein but he has enough good boy points so the media only fakes outrage over bullshit
Noah Lee
no mention of a woman burning a theater full of nazis in basterds. two women who helped kill seven people in real life are shown being murdered in a film, so the film is misogynistic. what a take.
Oliver Scott
but they were brainwashed by charlie. it wasn't their fault, you see, they were the true victims.
Carter Butler
Wait, so is the film an alternate reality where Tate survives? What a meme.
Justin Morris
Tarantino is cancelled?
Gavin Ramirez
Yeah and it wasn't even by chance or coincidence. It just happens. There is no set up or reason for them to go to try and kill Rick Dalton instead of Sharon Tate other than he yelled at them 5 min prior.
Matthew Sanders
he was bisexual and possibly biracial. he's more of a victim than two women put together.
Joseph Rogers
that would have been more than enough reason for the manson family.
Nathan Morgan
But the women were also bisexual and biracial. Check mate.
Cooper Clark
Sure, but the previous 2 hours of the movie really didn't matter. Its not like Rick and Cliff were well defined character studies either and they didn't have much of an arc through most of the movie. I'm trying to like the film but the more I think about it, the more I feel like it was a waste of my time.
Julian Foster
krenwinkel was possibly part yeti because of all the body hair but atkins was fully white
Liam Richardson
the film was about how the white, straight cowboy type that was supposedly dying out could have stopped the dirty hippies, of which the manson family was a fairly typical example, from ruining america and electing a black president twice.
Ethan King
>The so-called Manson girls had been brainwashed by a madman this just shows an utter lack of knowledge of the Manson Family. Charles really didn't do all that much to convince people, he just kept the party going and had charisma. Most of the family was constantly cycling out, people weren't stuck in it if they didn't want to be. The murders were really pushed by Tex and Manson just let it happen. People associate the whole debacle with Manson as he was the guru-type keeping everyone together but he really wasn't the serial killer sort of person he's assumed to be by the public.
The girls turned on Manson immediately after when they were caught, meanwhile members of the family that weren't actually facing prosecution stayed loyal. That doesn't sound like brainwashing to me.
Lucas Thomas
say it with me Tarantino Is Cancelled
William Gutierrez
atkins blabbed to her cell mates because she was proud of it. she was still loyal. the only girls that turned were kasabian and the one they tried to kill with the acid hamburger.
Jaxon Myers
>this comment *squints* what's your game here bud
Joshua Perez
Manson was much older than everyone else and had spent his years as a petty thief and trying to be a gangster. He was a thug. Then comes 1967, he is released from prison again. Having spent much of his life behind bars. He arrives at the hippie-scene. People are giving away sex and cannabis for free. Manson is from a completely different age. He meets people and take acid with them for the first time. It is from these trips the defence attorney takes bits and pieces and forms the "helter skelter" scenario that they end up saying is all of Mansons plan.
Austin Martin
>blatantly way worse than harvey weinstein Proof?
Eli Ward
>Tarantino has a woman with a sword slaughter men >Tarantino has Samuel Jackson shooting random guys for a punchline in an iconic scene >women literally don’t say anything about this
Jacob Allen
Yeah and Manson was also a kid who spent his youth in a boys home getting literally raped by the others. You can drag out sob-stories for most criminals, it doesn't make them the good guys.
Helter Skelter was one of the many retarded plans Manson cooked up while tripped out. He also wanted to hold up in the desert while the race wars were fought so they could re-emerge as the only white people left and be worshipped by black people as gods for knowing how to do things all the dead white people knew how to do. They were all just fucked up hippies and they were all responsible. Tex was really the driving force of violence in the group though, Manson never actually killed anyone. He basically took the fall for saying a bunch of shit while fucked up that his underlings took seriously.
Tyler Martinez
>Helter Skelter was one of the many retarded plans Manson cooked up while tripped out. Manson was only the listener of those stories. Helter Skelter was never anything coherent but bits and pieces from what they called 'the family's different trips. They lawyers needed Manson to be the patsy which is also why he was convicted on 'conspiracy for murder'. They really had nothing and the public wanted someone to hang. Manson played the part until his death while trying to prove his innocence while still being hounded at every turn.

>However, the conclusion was reached by murdering those young adults — two of them young women — in a comedic and explosively violent manner. So what? So the fuck what? Why do these people feel they can control art/stories. It's a fucking story that somebody wrote and that's what happened. So what? I swear to God why do they have to ruin every fucking thing?! Why?
