Hello Federica, thank you very much for your availability, I am really happy to hear from you and excited for this interview. How did these first Grands Prix go? Exciting both with close fights, thanks to the new rules? >Thank you, the pleasure is all mine. The first grands prix were better than you might have expected. They went beyond expectations, partly because we were very busy for this new F1 with the new regulations, partly because all the big changes can bring unknowns and so it was and we found them on the track. A championship that starts again with Max Verstappen world champion on Red Bull. A new championship started with Ferrari as the protagonist and as Italians can only make us happy.
We saw Mercedes in difficulty, and in the last race especially Lewis Hamilton, do you think the time has come for the generational change between drivers? >I don't know, in the sense that I would hate to see Hamilton's epic go down like this, due to the difficulties of the car, on the other hand I tell you that I am very happy to be able to witness this new era of F1, also made up of men. Real men. Powerful men. Hungry men. Last year Verstappen managed to break Lewis Hamilton's dominance, and I don't know if it's the end of Hamilton's empire, but it was certainly a strong message, a generational change regardless of this victory. I tell you that Verstappen, Leclerc, Norris, Russel, Sainz are young guys and now they are no longer just the future of F1, but the present of F1. Yes, perhaps there has also been a generational change because these new cars seem to be much easier to understand to those who drove F2 like Leclerc, Norris, Russel. If the DRS slammed shut right when the car passed then there's a good chance the gap wouldn't be that large when they got to the next corner, forcing the driver to actually fight for position.
