Tease a sinister six thing, but then have it all resolved and averted in the first 20 minutes. Then when the audience is confused, Morlun comes out of nowhere and bam! The movie is now adapting the Other storyline.

Raimi probably wouldn't because it's too late to fix anything to make it the way he likes. Maybe one day he'll make a Spider-Man 4 for Sony as some sort-of spin-off, or an animated film with his Spider-Man cast, but that's all I can see.

The first 30-40 minutes of this movie weren't very enjoyable for me . I also don't like how Mysterio's villain reveal was handled and just how much of a threat he was. This wasn't really Mysterio to me. At least not what I want out of a big screen Mysterio.
That said I didn't hate the movie. Split down the middle on it, honestly. I think it's perfectly average.

This was the first Spider-man movie I didn't watch. Felt good to finally break that conditioning, but also a little shitty cause I know that character is dead to me for the foreseeable future.

The first part was pretty much a higschool romance. It was done well but just not for all demographic. Even I didn't enjoy it but can swallow it. Mysterio have always been a goofy villain to me in the comics and cartoons. Makes spiderman run into walls, creating illusions to trick the common people etc. the movie did a good job of actually making him go toe to toe with spiderman and making him more of a threat. It was also the perfect villain to introduce spider sense

What the hell are they thinking? 2 films now have had the same arc of Peter learning to be his own man instead of living in Tony's shadow (which doesn't make a good Spider-Man story as he should never be in Starks shadow like that in the first place). But then the films go out of their way to show us that he's a younger Tony Stark.

This really can't be stressed enough. It's the spiritual core of the character. Not even outing Superman's identity would fuck him up as bad as it does Peter Parker.

MCU Spider man is just an iron man who uses webs and jumps instead of lasers and flying. Uncle Ben and With Great Power is no where in site, aunt May is a sexy milf with no financial troubles to stress Peter out, he isn't going to have to deliver pizzas to pay for college that he can't attend because he's overburdened with fighting street crime because he's riddled by the guilt of letting uncle Ben's killer go. Every single conflict that gave spider man heart doesn't exist, he's just a super powered zoomer with a mega rich step dad.

There is literally no soul to the MCU Spider man. Watching Raimi Spider Man after Homecoming and Far From Home is like watching the Nolan Batman's vs Schumacher's.

Inarguably correct on all points. One of the things missing from the Disney treatment of the character is the sense of sacrifice. Pete struggles in the comics and the Raimi films. He's frequently walking around looking like a guy who's functioning on a two-hour nap. He has legit money troubles. And this is all because he's an actual hero. All his problems disappear the instant he lays down that burden he's carrying, even the money issues. If he wasn't an honest, decent man, he could be the world's greatest cat burglar, but he'll never do that regardless of how tempting that might be.

This resonates with people because it's a fantastic metaphor for anything someone might have a passion for. With Pete, his passion is for using his abilities to make a difference in the world, but it's equally applicable to almost anything. If you devote yourself to something you're passionate about, it's going to involve some sacrifice, and one of the most tangible, unavoidable things you'll always be sacrificing is your time. There is almost no hint of this in the Disney films. I'd almost be willing to say it's deliberate, but that would imply they actually gave it some thought.

Just so you guys know, Disney is preparing a big reset for 2030 so they can re-do the entire Marvel cinematic universe with new actors. All I know is that it will have to do with Dr. Strange and his bullshit magic.
