1. Obi Wan's repressed sexuality and unnatural celibacy warped his mind in such a way that he was living vicariously through the sexual escapades of others, thus subconciously influencing him to pair Anakin with Padme because it provided him with a strange and warped sense of sexual gratification

This repression screwed with Obi Wan to the point where he was probably jerking it several times a day to the thought of Padme's delectable body. It's not unlikely considering that pretty much no Jedi are shown to be perfect, and are ultimately still beings with emotions. Perhaps also pairing Anakin with Padme would allow him to relieve these temptations, which it probably didn't as Obi Wan probably pounded the shit out of Padme by Revenge of the Sith.

2. Palpatine's influence on the dark side clouded the Jedi's judgement in many ways, but it had to be done subtly. Influencing Obi Wan's mind to send off Anakin with Padme, thus making it very likely for Anakin to be tempted by his emotions and drawn to the dark side, was one of these subtle ways.
