Was Prince eof Darkness meant to be a comedy?
All I remember is Wang making a bunch of jokes and Alice Cooper as a hobo.

Prince of Darkness is his most underrated but it’s contrarian to say it’s better than the Thing. In the Mouth of Madness has a weak script is masterfully directed.

While the directing of PoD was top tier the acting was fucking awful, same thing with the script. In the Mouth of Madness is Carpenter's most underrated film (but not his best, that honor goes to The Thing)

I thought the acting of the woman who goes with Sam Niel was subpar, especially compared to him, who delivered a great performance.

I agree, but POD and The Thing are so close in quality its basically splitting hairs to say which is better. ITMOM is a near masterpiece, but Escape from New York, Christine, They Live and Big Trouble in Little China are all better.

His most underrated is definitely Ghosts of Mars.

I thought those dream sequence where so cool,I didnt really like the rest of the movie desu, it was hard to grasp at what was happening and alot of things where left unexplained, like the homeless people
