I'm just trying to imagine a Hollywood version, and it cracks me up. There's no way they'd actively hire Asian people in the main roles. I think telling would lose a lot of its charm by moving over to live action. You couldn't really get away with the over the top dramatic stuff the series thrives on as it would just come off as super cheesy.

I don't know what you mean by that. Here's what I'm saying:
Manga drawings are meant to represent people. The style requires certain simplifications and alterations to what people look like. Hence, for example, spiky hair. Real people do have spiky hair, but it doesn't come out in big triangular chunks like in anime. If the artists drew with full detail, it wouldn't be a cartoon; if they drew the most true-to-life representation in 20 strokes, it wouldn't read as spiky. Hence the triangles. But in Dragonball Evolution they gave live action Goku the triangular-spikes hairstyle, so of course it looked fake and out of place.
There was a Bleach adaptation semi-recently, and thankfully they gave Ichigo a human hairstyle. But they still dyed his hair orange. In anime there's no hairstyle that looks unnatural, but in real life there are only a few colors that come out of a Japanese teenager's head. You could say Ichigo dyes his hair, but the anime obviously isn't saying that, and it doesn't fit his character.

I disliked Orochimaru after he lost his arms. He went from scary to gross.
Naruto never stopped having good moments though. They just got less and less frequent (although it wasn't a steady decline; kazekage rescue arc was worse than Pain arc). For example, Naruto meeting Kushina and the flashback to his birthday was great. That happened when he was training kyuubi chakra mode, well after the Pain arc. But yeah, the war arc alone ruins Shippuden just by how boring and ridiculously long it is.

IMO it would be for kids, orochimaru would be the bad guy, focus on naruto, sasuke and sakura, roughly takes the plot of the first two seasons of the anime including the ninja exam through the defeat of orochimaru’s plan to take over the leaf village. They’d have to cut A LOT but it could work. Naruto learns the rasengan earlier and uses it to defeat orochimaru whose power level is a lot lower in the movie.

I mean, that's just because Asian Kung Fu Generation is so good. They are one of the defining anime soundtrack groups. Pretty much every OP they've done is considered the best for it's respective show and is highly memorable.
