one of the few decent horror films desu

Boring and badly directed. Headshots of women looking solemn over and over again. And i watched satantango in one go so i have the right to call something boring as a criticism. There was no tension or interesting ideas raised in the film and nothing impressive audiovisually so i just couldn't wait for it to end.

I feel the premise is flawed when Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka look absolutely nothing alike.

I feel the premise of filmmaking is flawed when Emma can't act and looks like a potato. Meanwhile Kipka looks like an underage child.
Terrible flick aimed at pederast pseuds.

The scene of her cutting the heads was kino, fuck off zoomer

pederast means boys

Then the premise isn't flawed you illiterate dumbshits. The premise is fine, they botched the execution.

What do you mean by 'badly directed'?
>There was no tension or interesting ideas raised in the film
I think that exploring a more 'realistic' take on 'demonic possession in an all girls boarding school/dorm' was interesting. It plays with a lot of the same tropes as more standard horror films but subverts them in a way that is surprising for the viewer. I can't speak too much to tension but I found a lot of the atmosphere oppressive, which definitely left me a little anxious during most of the scenes in the dorm.

I'm not sure what you would consider impressive in terms of audio or visuals. I think the sound design was pretty top notch but because it's a very subdued film both audibly and visually it's difficult to recognize or appreciate those elements of the film.

As an aside, pretending that anyone has a 'right' to use certain criticisms based on other things they have seen or their particular group identity (ie: I'm allowed to call this movie sexist because I'm a man) is retarded. You could just say "I thought it was boring because XYZ" without needing to try and legitimize or justify yourself further.

That's a good point. I feel it's a necessary concession so that the 'twist' doesn't really get spoiled, but it does certainly feel like the twist could have been unpredictable in other ways.

Did I stutter, boy fucker?
I find the premise of your thesis flawed, as you failed to properly execute yourself.

Cope hard bro

The retarded twist that relies entirely on lying to the audience is the worst shit ever.

this is one of the kinoest horrors in 21st century.

The actors are really annoying. Not in a spooky or eerie way. Student film tier. All the shots are bad and are the same thing, mid torso upper head shot of a woman with the occasional badly framed nature or enviromental shot.

There is ZERO tension. So it's badly directed. The blonde is especially bad and i just wanted to punch her in the face when she did "le epic mysterious dialogue"

I'm not your brother, mongoloid. Your parents never attempted for another child after the failure that you were.

Cringe is a teenage reddit emotion.

Cringe.

Cope so hard bruv

Not exactly great, but watched it during a winter night under the bed on the portable screen, most comfy horror experience honestly.

I'd rather just watch 5ive Girls.

Ah I see. You're a subhuman from the muslim continent.
My condolences, you never had a chance.

This is just a lame impersonation of a kino 70's film.

I really don't get all you people that like this. Why?

There is zero scary scenes.
There is zero visually impressive scenes.
The location is not used to it's advantage.
I got the twist like 30 mins before it was revealed.
There isn't anything that sticks in the mind like a good horror film should do.
It ends with a "le epic" stabbing montage with characters you don't care about. The director is not creative enough to come up with something that is not just regurgitation.

To prove that i am a man of fair judgement i'll say that i liked the image of worshiping a boiler and another director could have made it good with a better script.

I'd do so much depraved shit to Kiki

Bruv you’re not white bruv

same, same

It was directed by the actor who played the loveless nerd in Legally Blonde. Ain’t that some shit.
