Are all of these movies worth watching or just like the last two? People said the last few were really good and I haven't seen any so i started with the first and it's just incoherent 90's technobabble and bad cgi gadgets.
Maybe movies aren't for you, have you considered watching your fellow children on YouTube?
Owen Long
only the first 2 are good. the first one is actually interesting, the second one is a john woo shoot em up. all the other ones might as well be capeshit.
Elijah Watson
Watch 1 and 3 and that's it
Leo Richardson
The first one is the best one and the only one directed by a proper director.
Caleb Lopez
The first is probably the best film, took me a few watches to really appreciate it though. MI2 is a massive pleb filter and its great. MI3 is meh. 4-6 are all samey but great.
Angel Perry
the one before the last is not that great but ok
John Collins
The first one is okay, the rest are boring, I thought the last one would be cool because of Cavill but its just another watered down James Bond rip off.
Xavier Cruz
The biggest problem with this movie is that the script sucks. De Palma, the actors, and the heist scene kind of carry it though
Sebastian Powell
The first is the best. It's not an action movie, it's more of a European-style psychological thriller. It easily has the best story, direction, acting, etc. of the series.
The second one seems to be the most hated, but if you like John Woo or just want old school action, it's pretty fun and stylish.
Personally I haven't like any of the others. The last one I watched was Ghost Protocol.
Henry Jackson
>The biggest problem with this movie is that the script sucks What's wrong with it?
The script just doesn't gel with the rest of the film. It's very by-the-numbers and safe, but the direction and acting are all very unique for a spy thriller of its time. I wouldn't call the film pretentious but it really wants to be something better than what its script ends up shackling it down to: which is just another spy movie. Maybe it's just not my thing, I honestly don't watch many blockbusters to begin with and being a fan of Cruise and De Palma is the only reason why I watched MI in the first place
It's a tight, extremely well paced spy thriller with some of the best action set pieces of all time. The simplicity of the story is precisely what allows for this. It's not bogged down in any overly complicated plot and what little exposition exists heavily leans on De Palma's slick visual style to communicate the message.
I have no idea where you're getting the idea that the movie wishes it was something better than it is. It's easily one of the best in its class.
