Why did Stranger Things fail?
August 2019
It seems lazy compared to the others, half the series is about relationships and the Russian storyline makes sense but is an easy cop out also the fucking monster from the upside down is tiny in comparison to what it was portrayed to be
just look at them and you have your answer
The only good parts of S3 were Joyce and Hopper and Robin and Steve
If they'd drop the children and made the season about them fighting the Russians, it would've been kino
The first season was great because of the mystery, now we know pretty much everything so who cares anymore about the monsters and shit
You also can't really gauge Elevens powers, you don't know if she's fighting someone strong or weaker because they both just lift their arms up and scream
I guess whoever screams harder wins?
Season 3 had so much useless shit in it, some of it really left a bad taste in the mouth (The singing that went too long and the New Coke scenes spring to mind)
faggot zoomer things
At least ST season 3 had lots of threads. Orange is the New Black's final season got a handful of threads with 3-4 posts (and it was actually a good season like the early ones).
People just wanted to talk about how sexy the kids are, no one really cares about the story that much.
The actors become too old for their pedophile fandom.
I liked it, it was pretty much on par with the second season. Still not anywhere near as good as the first though.
I still don't know why everyone keeps trying to get into the upside down?
I must have missed or forgotten the reason they all want into the place where basically everyone dies
Maybe its like the space race. One side goes up into space, the other side decides they cant be left behind so they have to go into space too. Only this time its the upside down
Makes enough sense i guess
It just got too ridiculous in the end.
>Soviet commies knowing anything about how to run a popular American mall
>mayor gets threatened by russian terminator
>could easily have called the US government and told them that fucking actual communists were running the mall
Thats not even mentioning the logistics of such a project
probably the best reason there can be for every country to be so quick into the world of death.
eleven stealing military secrets made sense and the upside down gate was a byproduct but now all they care about is the gate to hell. It's like the plot to doom but at least they made more sense
Yeah the third season was pure shit
NANCY EAT YOUR FUCKING DINNER YOU ANOREXIC IDIOT
>highest grossing movie ever (unadjusted lol) released this year
>forgotten already
Wtf bros???
i thought she looked a lot better this season. she wasnt quite as skinny and didnt look sickly anymore
It’s a parody of cheesy 80s commie bad movies you dummy
Lots of things to say but in short, they tried to do too much and failed at most of it. The characters were either thin caricatures of their former selves or just completely forgotten.
I don't hate S3, I'm just disappointed because it had the pieces there to be great
>half the series is about relationships
It's gotten worse in S3, but it was already a problem in S1. I honestly completely forgot about what happened in S2, other than what was mentioned about it in S3.
What bothers me the most:
>sister and brother couple
They were so forced and completely useless. Has been the case in every season but this time it was put to an extreme.
>the journalists and their jokes about the sister
Seemed like the scenes were written by a child.
Why are so many characters turning into cartoon characters?
>mother and cop guy constantly yelling at each other
>mother being completely useless after shit gets rolling
>to many parallel plots
>too much coming of age shit
>DUDE 80S LMAO XD 80S!!!! WOAH YOU REMEMBER TERMINATOR? :O BACK TO THE FUTURE XD
I know it's the shows whole thing, but come one.
That said, if you liked S1 and S2 it's definitely worth watching (mostly because there nothing else to watch). The icecream crew was pretty good, even the little black girl. In this case the cartoony characters worked imho. I also liked the tinfoil guy a lot.
I hated this season. The monologue about The Thing as New Coke is cringe-vania. But a month later, and it seems like three months or more, I admit it has a better, more colorful place in my brain than S2.
The color palette of S3 leaves a big warm candy like impression imho.
The bright, bomb pop colors left a nice impression in my mind too
The biggest problem was that the Russians were a joke. The zombie flesh monster was still threatening but the Ruskies just came off as rediculous. Too much humour and it never felt as anyone was ever in much danger.
It was better than S2 in the sense that it wasn't just the same monster again and it also didn't have that godawful Eleven subplot but I still maintain it should've finished after one season.
Also the ending was anticlimactic as fuck.
>26.4 million viewers in first 4 days
>is failure
could you be any dumber?
It achieved huge mainstream success, all of social media is still talking about it.
Because season 1 was written by a different guy. The duffer brothers just stole his pitch and sold it to Netflix, so after that season they had no clue what they were doing. He sued them recently, but they settled out of court and brushed it under the rug.
I liked it better than season 2
It's literally one of Netflix's most popular shows, if not the most popular show
He took them to court but couldn't prove shit. .
Big if true.
it needed 26 episodes, instead you have A plot and B plot and C plot and all you really care about is when the three plots are gonna meet and everything in between doesn't fucking matter in the slightest.
you can pretty much skip the entire season until the last two episodes and you won't have missed anything important to the lore.
Best season since the first. Worth watching twice.
Each episode should have focused on a specific group with certain touching points. But I guess this would have taken skill in writing.
or maybe just not have every character in the show be a principal character and focus on your core cast instead
Should I be upset that the best character (Billy) died, or happy that he won’t be around for another season to have his character ruined?
If you watch this show you're a friendless faggot loser. Also possibly a pedophile.
>shit storyline
>goofy main characters
>muh 80's nostalgia
>Coke product placement
>Charlie and Natalia confirmed cokeheads
>Natalia looking fucking hideous (pic related)
Need I go on?
>communists running a mall doesn't make sense
When they now control schools, media and everything else. Ok.
«STRANGER THINGS 2» IS AN IMPROVEMENT OVER «STRANGER THINGS 1»; «STRANGER THINGS 3» IS AN IMPROVEMENT OVER THE PREVIOUS TWO «SEASONS», BEING BETTER SEASONED; «STRANGER THINGS» IS VULGAR ENTERTAINMENT, POPULAR FODDER, STOCK MEDIA CONTENT, CANDY, AND, AS SUCH, THE LATEST INSTALLMENT IS MORE SPECTACULAR ENTERTAINMENT, RICHER FODDER, GLOSSIER STOCK, SWEETER CANDY; MY PRIME OBJECTION IS THAT THEY PERVERTED THE «MAXINE» CHARACTER, FROM IMPETUOUS AND SLY TO IDLE AND VAIN —I WISH FOR THIS TO BE CORRECTED IN FUTURE «SEASONS».
My biggest complaint this season was the ridiculous shift in tone, the first season looked and felt sublime and believable, this one looked and behaved like something out of an Austin Powers movie, (e.g. infinite elevators and hallways). I actually prefer the second direction, but it just felt like too big of a clash for me to take it seriously.
YOUR ERROR LIES IN TAKING «STRANGER THINGS» SERIOUSLY.
What will they do with him in S4?
it definitely didn't fail, it just hasn't been as fresh and unique since season 1, so it's not as memorable
>Within four days of its release, Netflix reported that over 40.7 million accounts had seen at least 70% of one episode of the third season, a record viewership for any Netflix program, while 18.2 million had seen the entire season within the time
hopefully something
like, at fucking all
biggest letdown for me of s3 was that the gangs friendship arc felt extremely lackluster
BLACKED
>the first season looked and felt sublime and believable
No it didn't. It felt like an incoherent mash-up between ET and scanners. Like I'm supposed to find this psychopathic superpowered mass-murderer adorable, and as if the boys wouldn't be absolutely horrified by her as she casually murders adults around them.
You idiots only liked it because you're stupid.
Sorry.
i hope eleven turns evil in season 4
Huh? She’s the worst this season by far
I meant from a visual direction standpoint, but even then El is never explicitly painted as saintly, it's just the kids who react to her naively who think she's good
I just got tired of the same shit over and over, this show should be ended on season 1.
