Movies work much better IMO. I watched American Psycho twice and went through half of Kubrick's filmography while studying for my latest round of finals.

Having a visual as well as audial stimulus in the background keeps my mind going. I suppose norms would feel the same.

I love to rewatch movies personally, but movies I tend to rewatch are usually from stanley kubrick, david lynch, bryan depalma, takeshi kitano, john boorman etc. etc.
my entertainment in rewatching them, lies in the fact that every time I watch them I tend to notice something new, be it a background detail, the delivery of a specific line or an allegory I might have missed
Now I would assume the average normie is so retarded, that even straightforward narratives tend to elude them. So on rewatches, the plot will be clearer and they'll feel more fulfilled
either that or they're even stupider and they just get emotional at every single "emotional" scene as if flipping a switch
