>It's a useful mental exercise. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing... Because it was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little. Everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings. Pawns. I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else... Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice. The lesson is, anyone who looks on to the world as if it is a game of chess, deserves to lose.

It’s episodes like this that made me stop watching it and now it’s “gathering dust” in my HD.

WELCOME TO
THE MACHINE

>CAN. YOU. HEAR. ME.
Latter seasons really suffered from shifting away from Reese and Finch as the main characters but you know shit was about to go down when godmode Reese was involved

I still miss Carter

Sure thing user.
What did you think of season 4? People really hype up the finale and welcome to the machine but I disliked it as it ended it essentially being a rethread of season 3, but worse. Season 3 ended on such a high note they never seemed to recover from or to.

Wasn't this guy in Lost.

Benjamin Linus yeah

Personally I enjoyed up, but I get why some people would feel it’s a retread

>everybody is the same heh
No one believes this

>. Season 3 ended on such a high note they never seemed to recover from or to.

Agreed. PoI changed to a more fanservice show.

What’s this from?

>You are being watched

>that one time samaritan/greer does the intro

>Right now, terrorists are plotting to assassinate a presidential candidate. My wife and daughter have been kidnapped. And people I work with may be involved in both. I'm federal agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life.

>You are being watched. The government has a secret system
>A system you asked for, to keep you safe.
>A machine that spies on you every hour of every day.
>You've granted it the power to see everything, to index, order and control the lives of ordinary people.
>The government considers these people irrelevant. We don't.
>But to it, you are all irrelevant. Victim or perpetrator, if you stand in it's way,
>We'll find you.

Babylon 5, you're very lucky, if you're going to watch it for the first time.

What’s it about?

space opera with political intrigues

Sounds kinda lame

it is

>I don't like killing people, but I'm very good at it.

It sounds lame, sorry.

tfw I recommended this show to my mom and she said she's watched it like 4-5 times and always wants to watch it again when she scrolls past it on netflix

>dude! no killing lmao!
>literally let thousands of people die
I'm the last guys to say "lmao spooks", but holy shit... Batmen fucking shits.

Shit like this makes it tough for me to get into this show.

I usually just rewatch the earlier ones

Why do people praise this show? Isn't it just case of the week stuff?

Pretty much at the beginning, then it turns into an AI War.

Roughly when? Season 2? 3?

nice

Like around 3 when Samaritan (evil AI) is introduced.

Kino episode

Yes and it continues like that for what seems like eons
But, eventually, the AI shit comes to the fore and it becomes good. Occasionally truly great
That episode where they realise the supercomputer has been dumping its entire memory as PAPER print-outs to be keyed in next day, so it remembers stuff after its nightly reboot, hit hard

Also it has Amy ACKER as a cute HACKER

Yeah but, the show is like 5 seasons, 4 of them consisting of 20 episodes. Is it worth dumping all this time on it? Is it even Boardwalk Empire Tier?

PoI is easily in my top 3. It had incredible characters. Literally every single one was good including a lot of the recurring side characters.

I expected to hate stronk black woman, edgy assassin, and super hacker but all three turned out to be fucking excellent.

Usually

Even Ghost In The Shell and Legend Of The Galactic Heroes? Yea Forums memes them a whole lot so I figured I'd give them a shot.

What the fuck is with the influx of Redditors to the boards?

I guess they’re okay.

>n-no, people don't like my 2deep4u show
Grow thicker skin, faggot.

is this real

>that episode where they counsel a married couple that hired hitmen to kill each other.

Unfortunately yes.

I don't remember seeing anything so cringy in the AoT manga

Guess stuff changes in adaptations

Not only that... the show was ahead of its time. A lot of the major plot points were laid out before the Snowden leaks happened. Even in terms of using AI to do everything, they were ahead of """AI""" becoming the marketing meme it is today.

The paper printout stuff was amazing. Reminded me of the old Asimov stories how robots always manage skirt around the laws you set for them.

Carter and Fusco were always my favorite parts of the show, two regular cops (abeit one former dirty one) caught in the middle of a government conspiracy and just helping people.

>You can't assign more value to some of them and not others.
Ok then let’s let just anyone pilot jumbo jets and perform heart surgery
Oh what’s that, only a select few with high intellect, dedication and dexterity are able to perform these types of jobs that are essential for society to function?
I’d call that being quantifiably worth more.
>You’re worth something just for being born
I hate faggots who argue this

You ever watched the show?

>piloting jumbo jets
>only a select few with high intellect, dedication and dexterity
Tippest toppest kek.
