What makes this franchise so bad?

The Conjuring movies are alright I guess but the spin off are complete shit. Especially Annabelle.

The same with many horrors, the genre in general works much better in a shorter time frame and embracing the inexplicable. If that original film had ended at the clap clap bit on the stairs, it would have been a pretty good horror. They almost never hold the suspense for more tha. 40-60 minutes and the premise almost always become idiotic because they inherently are when you involve the supernatural.

Because James Wan didn't stick around to helm the Conjuring sequels all the way up to them fighting Lucifer
instead you got shit sequels and even shittier spin offs.

Genuinely still like this movie a lot. I'd say it's the best horror movie of the 10s by far. I don't know why they had to make all those shitty sequels and spin offs.

Conjuring 2 was pretty comfy.
The nun was absolute dogshit though, only redeeming feature was the intro.
