See you guys at the game

Is there anything MLS does better than other leagues aside from teams being based in North American locales instead of Eurotrash nowhere burgs?

Genuine question no shilling or trolling
Do you guys think MLS will get lower divisions with promotion/relegation in the future?

It's hard to tell honestly
Probably not but I can definitely see them being unable to ignore the lower divisions forever

Financial stability
Look at places like Italy and how often teams are fucked

Not a soccer fan (soccer curious).
Portland v LA game kinda entertaining so far. Saw something about some player bitching about MLS refs not calling fouls. So far I like that they've cold ignored a few dives already. Hopefully that continues.

THEY'RE GOIN DOWN
THEY'RE YELLIN TIMBERRRR

>30 team league
>only one game on Sunday
No wonder the next TV deal is looking like shit.
How are you supposed to get ratings if there's nothing to watch?

>ignoring dives
nvm

Djp0y

MLS already has lower divisions like MLS Next Pro, the only question remaining is whether it'll ever have relegation/promotion

I highly doubt it. I do think the salary cap will eventually go away though.

fuck me i thought the galaxy game started at 4:30PT not ET

BASED can you get me some weed

>a canadian asking this
Larger stadiums when possible. Not every MLS team has that, but in the UK they make a big deal of Wembley bt in the US every major city has one of those.

>they're goin down
In an earlier round.

But sister, they're going down swinging

>MLS no cap
Holy shit teams would go broke signing Euro superstars.

I agree pro/rel is unlikely, imagine paying $50 million or whatever for an expansion fee then being told you're relegating to playing in Bismarck, SD

Based

MLS is always played on Saturday to not compete with the NFL

sounds like a banger

>two and a half
It was my understanding Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver were actual civilization.

People will tell you vaccines cause autism but I'm vaccinated and never had autism until I listened to this.

Watching highlights of all the matches, wtf was DC doing vs Fatlanta lol

I believe MLS will need to do away with the salary cap and draft system if it wants to be competitive. Promotion/regulation would be hard to implement due to the franchise nature of the league and I also believe America doesn’t have enough soccer towns to have that. Best idea is to do away with the salary cap and draft system but not implement promotion regulation

It's a long way out, but if some of the USL teams keep developing, they might have no choice

LAS VEGAS VILLAINS WHEN? WE FINNA DAB ON THE WEST VIIIIIILLLAAIIIIINNNSSS

>villains
If it's anything other than Las Vegas FC, I will make my own hot pockets for a week.

Already trademarked by their prospective owners. Might want to look at who else they own.

trademarked just means no one else can use it, it indicates nothing.

>be los angeles
>lose

I'm going to move to new york and I'm going to root for nyc fc and there is NOTHING you can do about it

I arbitrarily support D.C. United because
-I like D.C. (grew up in Jersey but fuck NY, NE and Philly)
-Good color scheme and logo

I know next to nothing about soccer except I played FIFA on Sega Genesis when I was 9. Is this a bad move?

dc is the worst city in the usa

The fuck is this?

This
Charlotte trademarked 6 good names then when with the boring [City Name] FC that's boring as hell

gregg out

When I was 22 I drove to meet a girl who lived in Takoma and we got really drunk and I ended up eating her ass then she passed out before reciprocating, so I went out into her living room and ended up making out with her roommate.

So

Go DC U

Yep, now no one can make fake merch or do fan sections, or whatever they call it in the UK. Firms?

The United States have yet to produce a player on the level of Dwight Yorke.

Concacaf is a fucking abhorrent acronym

Football Confederation of the Americas
FCA

correct but I still couldn't tell you what FIFA stands for without googling first

>Italian in NY
You'll fit right in

>abhorrent
>tf
>tp

not sure if that's an insult given how many americans seem to regard ny, if it is I'll take it in stride and if it's not I'm glad that's the case

NY has a large Italian population, AYY OHHH GABAGOOL

therens an entire area of the city with tialians(ironically enough, its not little italy anymore). Saw a guy in central park speaking in complete italian to some guy on his phone
