South-Korean movies
>still cant find a foreign movie better then pic related
Why is this fat cunt so based ?
And why is Korean cinema vastly superior to any other Asian counterparts ?
South-Korean movies
>still cant find a foreign movie better then pic related
Why is this fat cunt so based ?
And why is Korean cinema vastly superior to any other Asian counterparts ?
You mean you can't find a better foreign film than Memories of Murder? Also Japanese cinema is obviously better than Korean.
Ive watched shit tons of Korean, some Chinese/Japanese and Thai movies and still cant find a better movie then MOM
>Japanese movies are better
Korea has made more+better movies in the 10 years between 2000 and 2010 then Japan in nearly 100 years
>Korea has made more+better movies in the 10 years between 2000 and 2010 then Japan in nearly 100 years
Better movies than Memories of Murder.
>Sansho
>Ugetsu
>Harakiri
>The Human Condition
>Throw Away Your Books Rally in the Streets
>Eros + Massacre
>Woman in the Dunes
>The Naked Island
>Nobody Knows
>High and Low
Etc. so here you have some Japanese films.
>City of Sadness
>Millennium Mambo
>What Time Is It Over There
>Stray Dogs
>Yi Yi
>A Brighter Summer Day
Here are some Taiwanese films.
Also most of Korean films are just violent thrillers.
>also Korean film are just violent thrillers
thats the best part
>taking the time to reply to a bait
It's not like i have anything better to do.
Are those in your first list in he same genre as MOM?(crime thrillers)
You said better movies not better crime thrillers. Still High and Low is better.
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is based af
I am not OP. I was just looking for good crime movies.
i guess you've never seen crouching tiger hidden dragon
Japan and Hong Kong have completely stagnated in the last 20 years for various reasons, and everything gets censored to shit in Mainland China, and people there are afraid to try anything new for the fear that it would get arbitrarily censored, and the studio would get fucked with a movie they spent all the money and time on but can't ever release.
The Handmaiden is better but imma let you cook. Anything by Park Chan-wook is kino.
Also The Chaser and The Wailing are kino.
And Joint Security Area is my favorite war/army related movie.
Is Little Drummer Girl any good?
I quite enjoyed The Chaser (추격자)but I'd still say that 살인의 추억 is the most based Korean movie I've seen though. I've seen too many and the only ones that stick out at me straight away are those two.
The man from nowhere is kino
Enjoyed this a lot.
good taste mah dude
Can anyone post the Korean movie recommendations pic
You guys ever heard of Oldboy?
Isn't that the Spike Lee flick with Josh Brolin? Was kind of surprised that Korea has niggers and that they direct movies.
Train to Busan is slow burn fast paced horror
just finished Coin Locker Girl today, was great, and the main girl was super cute
The Josh Brolin one is the remake.
Japanese cinema in the past maybe. Modern Jap Movies are shit
Everybody has heard of Oldboy.
>Korea has made more+better movies in the 10 years between 2000 and 2010 then Japan in nearly 100 years
This is what he said. Obviously claiming that Korean cinema is the best out of all Asian cinema is completely wrong. Also Japs still have Koreeda and Sono.
Are you sure? Wasn't Spike Lee hapy with his first version?
I think it's more like "the american version" and less of a remake.
The investigation team in this movie were worse than the actual criminal.
The entire serial killer case was manufactured by the government to distract people from the ongoing protests and create more public feeling of need for safety and security and thus reliance on the military regime. Classic textbook move for many military dictatorships around the world.
Peak Asian cinema is still Ran (1985), but S. Korea might be able to top that in another 10 years.
The Host, Train to Busan, Jumeogi Unda, Old Boy trilogy... SK movies are getting a special place in my heart.
Just because you throw some old movies to compare a more recent one is not fair but I don't expect a pretentious faggot to act genuine in a shoe making Burmese image board. Also, those japanese movies are not objectively better than Memories of Murder and I know that you googled some of them from some blogpost or took them from your own list of movies that you want to watch. I have seen 4 from the japanese list and they are excellent however I hate how you try to appear pretentious to some retarded inflammatory bait. Speaking about Koreans, have you seen Bad Movie? That alone is a masterpiece that cucks out most of your list.
Peak Japanese crime kino
It's fair since he said what he said. Of course they are not objectively better it's my opinion you retard.
>I know that you googled some of them from some blogpost or took them from your own list of movies that you want to watch. I have seen 4 from the japanese list and they are excellent however I hate how you try to appear pretentious to some retarded inflammatory bait.
Nice projection.
>Speaking about Koreans, have you seen Bad Movie?
No
>Bad movie
Never heard of that one before. Thanks I will check it out.
What is your take on 김기덕 Kim Ki-duk? His movies just seems to be of very varies quality. Have you seen Time, I am wondering if I should see it or not.
Japanese can't act
Koreans look the same
>shits out another kino
going to hollywood was the worst decision Bong made
>Also most of Korean films are just violent thrillers.
yea what the fuck is up with that? I watched some suggested Korean films in a row, and I can't differentiate between many of them in my memory now. The Chaser, I saw the Devil - and others like that just blend into each other. Maybe I'm racist too and they all look the same, but damn it's all the same super melodramatic acting and plot and the same rainy dark blood soaked visuals.
It is.
Good list user
>going to hollywood was the worst decision Bong made
oh come on, okja is on par with the rest of his filmography. that chase sequence in the underground shopping mall is arguably the best thing he's ever put to film
snowpiercer was 100% a mistake, could not argue with that
I have seen only Spring, Summer... and Pieta. I had a blast with both of them. Haven't heard anything about Time tho. I would check it out.
He posted an exaggerated bait, and this was lost on you since you are one of the many fucking faggots who mixes your identity with cinema and gets personal when someone states something that you dislike with. Shitting out names of old movies without saying anything to support your argument when it is so agressive and retaliatory just singles out what a faggot you are.
>Hurr its my opinion ofc lmaoooooo
You realize how beta that sounds? That means you have an empty hand since its only your opinion. That means what you said to the guy your were arguing isn't worth shit to anyone else.
how could we objectively define what is a better movie than Memories of Murder? I think we're here mostly to discuss our opinions of movies.
t. not that guy
you cant because art is subjective. this one guy is getting pissed off by some clear bait
This movie Memories of a Murder isn't good at all.
Why do you people act like its a good movie? You tricked me. The plot is shit
It was obvious from fucking early on that if the retard didn't commit the murders , he must have witnessed one. Why did it take the detectives like 2 months and a "genius revelation" in order to think of this? Fucking stupid.
And then the retard witness gets run over before he can identify the suspect? Fuckoff. such hackneyed , shitty writing.
And what , the police secretary just happened to notice that the same song was played on the radio each of the days of the murder? weak.
And what the fuck was the point of the urban legend about the murderer living in the highschool outhouse? So the detective investigates the highschool on a hunch, then just so happens to be told by a student that she saw a woman crying in a house on the hill, then the detective decides to interview the crying woman and it turns out she's a victim of the same murderer who was let go? What the fuck is that convenient writing?
It's such ass.
Fuck Memories of Murder. The Chaser, The Wailing, Memoir of a Murderer are all far , far better.
Memories of Murder is "I saw the devil"-tier, or even worse.
this is scraping the barrel
>Why did it take the detectives like 2 months
because they were stupid.
but yes, I agree that the movie is quite overrated and the plot has many silly moments. I didn't understand the outhouse thing either. It just happened to lead to the crying woman.
plus the main cast is mostly the same...
lol japanese cinema troglodytes have to search back 40+ years to find decent movies because their movie output has been amateurishly-made, cheap-looking, poorly acted crap for decades.
Nice so I'm not racist, they actually do look the same this time!
>in real life they sent the dna samples to Japan to get tested
>in the movie they made it America
Why? Do Koreans really hate Japan that much that they don't want to even slightly and a tiny bit portray them as helpful?
>Shitting out names of old movies without saying anything to support your argument when it is so agressive and retaliatory
There is nothing aggressive about that you faggot.
>That means you have an empty hand since its only your opinion. That means what you said to the guy your were arguing isn't worth shit to anyone else.
They can watch the films and see that i was correct.
Somewhat relevant, but did anyone else really like The Wailing only to be a bit let down after looking more into how the director interpreted the story/ending?
Looking into how the director treated the story, I couldn't help but feel like he was making up rules on the spot to suit the narrative of pinning the moral blame on the cast of characters. Also treating the devil transformation of the Japanese guy as an allegory to Jesus felt contrived, especially when the end point had him basically isolating and damning the priest for "doubting" him.
Koreeda, Miike and Sono made some good films.
>all the elite Directors started making English movies and killed the Korean scene
tragedy
Lee Chang Dong is the best and he is still making Korean films.
STILL WAITING FOR A FUCKING TORRENT OR SOMETHING
has anyone seen Barking Dogs Never Bite? Is it any good?
I think my friend said it was good but I might be making shit up mate
It will be on digital soon.
No idea, but it's like Denmark for the Scandinavian/Germanic countries.
Their movies are much better than Swedish or German.
i just finished watching memories of murder because of this thread and i am dissapointed.
it was slow and good, but that there was no conclusion feels like a waste of time.
In modern cinema,Korea is top dog.
But they dont have classics
It doesnt make any sense to police for reading Japanese document in tunnel. They should put another irrelavant scene where he shows ability of Japanese.
If I were director,I would change it to English too.
>watch this alone
>suddenly the corn field scene
the fact that there is no conclusion is the entire point of the fucking movie, it's based on a real case that is still unsolved and the movie was largely aimed at the person that committed the crimes. do some fucking research before criticizing things you don't understand.
I will look into that, thanks.
>Barking Dogs never bite
It is ok. Personally I did not particularly like it. It has some funny moments, but it was not to my taste.
It is not bad, so if you enjoy quirky Korean movies it might be for you.
But that's not Why Don't You Play In Hell
Nah, Japan has plenty of great movies in the last 20 years, you're just not passionate enough to search and you only see the highly advertised silly rom coms and shit.
How soon? I can't wait.
Talking about Chinese movies. How is ash is the purest white? It released in my town just now.
In 2 days is the Korean release. God knows how long will it take till someone makes subtitles for it.
It's good, watch it in cinema if you can.
I would watch it with legit subtitle later rather than watching torrent file in dogshit subtitle
>no conclusion feels like a waste of time
American detected.
Say some danish kino. Tve best one out of Scandinavia in recent years is the Swedish film Sameblod.
>SK movie bread
>ctrl-f "Oasis"
>ctrl-f "Breathless"
>no fucking hits
Yea Forums was a mistake
Yes, it's better than The Night Manager, which is also good.
If you like The Little Drummer Girl, you should watch the 2011 film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
I have seen both of those they are good. I was just wondering about Little Drummer Girl because the BBC/AMC version wasn't Park Chan Wook intended cut.
Damn I completely forgot about the subtitle situation. I remember it took 8 months for beoning to get a proper subtitle.
Butt da' Chaser omg so guuud
Kek shit taste.
Real crime niggas watch seijun suzuki movies.
I think South Koreans make the best movies these days. Some Japanese are good too and even better but with Japan it's wide range hit or miss, while South Korea is more standard.
American/English movies are commie shit, Europeans are still boring af, and Russians wanna be American-bad and still fail.
Chinese are try-hard's, South Americans don't stand out very much, Africans are still in the stone age and India will always be Bollywood tier. Muslims are too busy cutting each other's head off to make movies, only exception is Iran but rare like South American movies.
Yes, it was okay. A good intro to Bae Doona.
It's real good.
Real crime niggas are in jail, or hospital with gunshot wounds.
Because they were dropkicking everyone or because they were so incompetent.
They will never find the guy responsible.
Also where is my movie about that Korean spree killer who went on one of the deadliest rampages in history?
>Korea is top dog.
>But they dont have classics
Sonagi?
How the KOREAN KINO started story time!
>Some old guys who did some decent movies in the 70's with misused propaganda money founded a small film school for some rich kids and future propaganda directors in the mid 80's
>The government then used some of the most interesting laws around in terms of film, they decided to heavily tax (around 30%) foreign movies (aka Hollywood) and relocate the money into propaganda purposes, with plenty going to the school, which was basically running independently in terms of ideology at this point (early 90s)
>Then by late 90's a bunch of the directors appeared with pretty decent movies using actors poached from western-directed korean drama theaters, and by the early 00's they already had defined styles and repertoire to bust festivals.
>Then the killing part, a bunch of Hollywood execs decided to cast big contracts to plenty of these directors to make big blockbusters and/or with free budget, and almost everyone of the directors refused all the offers until they had made 3 movies (this part is just a rumor from said execs), giving the myth of some pact made by the ex-school students.
>A good number of them did go to America, but after releasing several movies and also for the fact that South Korea got severe pressure and changed their tax policy, and overall the film quota, around 2006, which is the year plenty see as the ending of the hegemonic kino spree, with overall the kino stopping around 2010, with a few movies coming since 2016.
>Chang-dong Lee was the decisive one that cast the vote to abolish the quota, something he seems to be repentant as it did impact their industry.
>Basically all the big Korean directors that make KINO atm are product of this school
What's the best place to watch Korean movies? Are Netflix, Amazon Prime, and VIKI the best streaming options? I've also got access to AvistaZ.
>Sono
He's pretty hit or miss
Hes obviously speaking contemporaneously you fucking mook
KissAsian.
>than Japan in nearly 200 years
Based retard.
>OIdboy
>Memories of murder
>The Handmaiden
The only S.K films ive watched. where do i go from here?
and can i get a quick run down on Japanese cinema? anything more modern, or is it all older/kurosawas stuff?
>then Japan in nearly 100 years
Fucking retard
>AvistaZ
You answered your own question.
>New World
>Joint Security Area
>Mother
>Chaser
>Thirst
Just pick one fren.
A Girl at my Door
Castaway on the Moon
Thirst
Oasis
It isn't. It's a really good movie though.
Joint Security Area
A Bittersweet Life
Oasis
3-iron
On The Beach Alone At Night
Then look at the directors and go through their catalogues. Also watch Sympathy for mr Vengeance, it's part of the vengeance trilogy(thematic trilogy, not actual trilogy) along with Oldboy but it's much better.
For Japan
Blue Spring
9 Souls
Tag
Visitor Q
Fish Story
Adrift in Tokyo
Still Walking
Yesss, Castaway on the moon is super underrated, probably the only rom-com I can stand.
Pure shit.
I fucking love South Korean movies. I even started learning the language so I can watch more content that's not available in English
thanks for the list, gonna check them out
Based gullible user.
>Spring, Summer..
Spring summer autumn winter then spring is one of the best films ever made, absolutely phenomenal.
>rom-com
Try "I'm Not A Robot". It's a one season show and it's super cute. I know that sounds gay as fuck but who cares.
For me it's Splash Splash Love
Speaking of robots, I'm a Cyborg but that's ok is really damn good. Underrated.
Dubs of truth.
My two favourite korean dramas are Stranger and Spring Turns to Spring
>and can i get a quick run down on Japanese cinema? anything more modern, or is it all older/kurosawas stuff?
This chart is a pretty good start. Also add Terayama. There are loads of great Japanese films and directors.
>Stranger
>Spring Turns to Spring
Can't find Stranger on AvistaZ
>still cant find a foreign movie better then pic related
cringe, what a tourist
aka Forest of Secrets
>Forest of Secrets
You mean Secret Forest with Bae Doona? I have that, still haven't watched it yet.
OK you memed me into watching it
If it's not kino, fuck you
If you can't appreciate real kino don't bother coming back.
The Wailing, Oldboy and Burning are really the only gook films that stuck with me
The Host is the only one worth to watch. Monster Boy is also a fine one. That's all though.
>Say some danish kino
Based Ordet of course
Day of Wrath for me.
>forgets Taiwan
Yeah that one. I couldn't help but start the next episode when finishing one
most overrated Yea Forums movie, it's barely watchable and there is no nuance to the theme or interactions
Both are fantastic
I agree. Vampyr was really good too, great dreamlike atmosphere.
I love that movie.
Heres a fav of mine, besides a small seeded torrent its not a very easy find, its called Cruel Winter Blues mega.nz
I know it's Jap, but has anyone seen Takashi Miike's First Love? Trailer looked like Kino
Haven't seen a Miike film in a long long time. This looks interesting, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
>>Throw Away Your Books Rally in the Streets
trippy as hell movie
Dis nigga ain't seen shin godzilla
OP is kinda right, Jap cinema died in the 90's modern Jap films are just depressioncore shit
>Prime waifu Zhang Ziyi wuxia
>Shit
You shut your fucking faggot face.
I saw The Emperor in August (日本のいちばん長い日) yesterday.
Pretty good historical kino, a movie about the last days of WW2, when they had to give in to survive and a military coup was brewing.
For the people that say there's no good contemporary japanese cinema.
Oasis about the disabled woman and the homeless guy is great
In fact, that's what serial killets are. Read Programmed to Kill by Dave McGowan.
this, its just pure shock value
it's ok, but vastly overrated for some reason. Gook Zodiac with super melodramatic acting as always. And silly plot points.
>being this desperate for (You)s
Here you go, user.
Sono is as shit as korean directors can be. fucking teenager.
He's not homeless, also he is retarded. And yes, it's Kino.
Have anyone seen Batle royale? I mean the movie which inspired the genre itself and later was aped by Hunger games and other shit?
How come movie about teens murdering each other feel so cozy and warm? I mean, a lot of asian films feels so. Can somebody explain why so?
people get blinded by mu ebin first korean le kino.
asian thighs
It's coming, directed by the man behind The Chaser and The Wailing. I predict a kino.
cityonfire.com
do The Act Of Killing (only the director's cut counts) and The Look Of Silence count as Asian / foreign-language films?
it's an adaptation of a book that also had a manga adaptation.
that's quite hard for me to understand and apply to the acting (if that's what you meant).
i watched it on a plane sort of hoping for a action movie but i was not in the slightest dissapointed when it proved otherwise, very good attention to detail with uniforms etc.
It's not acting, it goes deeper than that.
>Have anyone seen Batle royale?
Are you fucking serious, user?
What? Most of people I know never seen this movie.
More trippy than Funky Forest?
the best asian movie i saw was chinese I think. Black Coal, Thin Ice (2014)
>Most of people I know
Do they watch a lot of foreign films?
My gay friend (in the air force of course) showed it to me. He didn't try to touch my penis during it unlike every other time when we hung out growing up.
The director had a new film in Cannes this year.
You know the wrong people, they like to live in bubbles. Wait, how old are you?
>Having a gay friend in the Air Force
Nice, ask him to show you some hand to hand combat moves.
My favorite korean film was the wailing. That being said i havent watched many korean films. Any recommendations?
Its completely different genre but Last is one of the only K shows ive actually watched, hobo rank fighting hierarchy is kino
Check out The Chaser from the same director, it's pretty good.
well I get that, but I don't really understand how that relates to my comment. It's easy to link a wikipedia article without any other explanation.
It's why they are so subconsciously comitted to making their bleak crime and revenge thrillers. At least that's my take on it.
Hollywood trash mostly.
Well, it's not like asian movies are super-popular among public, mate. I'm 20+. Why?
>Funky Forest
Haven't seen it.
I'd say it was up there with Hausu
>I'm 20+. Why?
Oh, right. BR predates your movie watching years, you were 2 years old when it came out. So were most of your friends.
>it's not like asian movies are super-popular among public
Neither is 4channel, and yet here you are.
Where can you even download Asian movies anymore?
Limewire
Well, I've seen Citizen Kane, Casablanca etc, not even saying about all 80s 90s cult classics. BR is not old, it's a bit obscure I think.
Well, Yea Forums is unironically the only place where you can discuss movies without dealing with shit like crying faggots who were insulted by our opinion.
>Limewire
lel
>He doesnt know
Not really, 4channel is shit, every board mostly talks about the mainstream shit and the poplar word nowadays is "contrarian". As for BR, I'm pretty sure Tarantula named it his favorite movie ever so most people are aware of it from that at the very least, even if they're entry level.
The internet
>Well, Yea Forums is unironically the only place where you can discuss movies without dealing with shit like crying faggots who were insulted by our opinion
Horseshit. The simplest shit makes faggots on this site cry
I don't :(
for one, his favorite movie is Rio Bravo. For two, his favorite asian movie is City on Fire.
>Well, Yea Forums is unironically the only place where you can discuss movies without dealing with shit like crying faggots who were insulted by our opinion.
No, you have to put up with crying /pol/tards shitting the place up and getting threads pruned.
I feel bad for you, user. Here, try The Pirate Bay but don't tell everyone or the Feds will find out.
Still better than signing up to post a reply for a thread that won't get deleted for years and having every "i liked it" infringing others free speech so you get moderated.
Thanks for letting me know but I don't actually care what Tarantula likes. I just remember some interview or something, there's a video on youtube that's like 15 years old or maybe more of him listing his favorite 20 movies or something like that. I just remember BR and Blade being in it.
I don't trust that place more
True
"contrarian" is like a downvote, "based" is like a upvote.
At least, sometimes you can discuss good modern movies and series like BR2049 or Chernobyl.
Well, you're not getting banned for making faggots cry.
I don't really know what happened, but I blame sjws for infesting every piece of media with their cancer. I mean, pol spreading because sjw politics spreading.
>BR2049 or Chernobyl
Not only are these trash, but you could easily discuss these on redit or twitter. Because they're mainstream as shit.
>Well, you're not getting banned for making faggots cry
Except you are. You can even get banned for an opinion nowadays, posts get deleted for the dumbest reasons. Post 2009 Yea Forums was shit and 4channel is no different.
>start dicsussing the nature of what means to be a human and the struggle of Gosling character
>some tranny starts talking shit about how white male can't be hero and can't have struggle
>tell it to fuck off
>get banned
Also, if you don't like mainstream, at least you can discuss Tarkovsky's and Kubrick without tons of pseuds shitting on it with their opinions.
My fact that chinks have slit eyes got me banned on /ck/ even though that's not an opinion, that's verifiable fact.
>I don't really know what happened, but I blame sjws for infesting every piece of media with their cancer. I mean, pol spreading because sjw politics spreading.
yeah, but /pol/ are their own brand of sjw, with their own feefees and safe spaces, but twice as annoying.
>My fact
Yeah, YOUR fact, not an actual fact. Hahaha, faget.
Except /pol/ is not infliencing all forms of entertainment and media, and just whining on forums.
>Except /pol/ is not infliencing all forms of entertainment and media
Neither am I. I want both groups of cunts to fuck off.
Those 2 movies hit me fucking hard.
Failan too.
Well, I'm just saying that /pol/ is just defensive mechanism and consequence of sjw cancer. Once sjws are gone, /pol/ will dissapear too.
>nce sjws are gone, /pol/ will dissapear too.
I doubt that very much, but here's hoping.
It's easily better, despite being older and simpler.
Any Asian kino films that fit into drama / crime drama categories? I've seen Memories of murder and Oldboy.
Scroll up motherfucker
this. at the very least the best thing ever to come out of SK. fight me
Train to Busan is not a good movie.
>fight me
dumb 14 year old twitter girl poster
I thought this was really good out of korea.
I've only seen 3 Korean movies and this is one of them, honestly quite based underrated movie.
Lee Chang Dong is the best Korean director working right now.
>Dong
formerly penis
movies from Korea I've seen this past year in the theater that were worthwhile:
Swing Kids
Extreme Job
Along With The Gods series
The Net
Watch Poetry (시) , it is really good. It broke my soul, so I could not watch anything emotional for a year.
Same director. I have yet to watch Peppermint Candy, I just can't handle such an emotional experience again so soon.
the director is a kino machine
I like Peppermint Candy (1999) and Spider Forest (2004).
They are also VERY similar.
oh man, I've seen it and ya you are right. Think I watched them a year or two apart, peppermint candy was first.
I thought peppermint candy was really good as well as poetry, but I did not like burning as much at all. secret sunshine is on my list
>but I did not like burning as much at all
Why?
Secret Sunshine is really good.
If you like Peppermint Candy then you should watch Spider Forest (2004) it's very similar.
Burning is his weakest but still a damn good movie. Oasis is a must watch.
watch pic related. only movie i ever cried to
Girls can't post on Yea Forums. It's illegal.
boys can cry ;_;
Spellbound was also pretty great
This film is heartbreaking.
not a grill
melodramatic bullshit
spotted the nips
I think I went into it expecting something different based on his other stuff. Not bad at all but didn't hit me like the other 2 I mentioned.
Also thanks for the recs
NO U
The korean Saving Private Ryan...
Watch City of Life and Death.
>The korean Saving Private Ryan.
Nope
have you seen either movie?
the poster says 2018, but the movie is from the 90s?
i guess its for a re-release?
>i guess its for a re-release?
Probably the 4K release.
Koreans time works backwards. Next year will be 2017 to them. We don't know what happens when they get to 0.
Stop sleeping on the best romance comedy ever
AvistaZ is great
People here seem to have recommended all of Lee Chang Dong's films except for his debut, Green Fish. It's really good and hits you emotionally. A young Kang-Ho Sobg is also in it.
>best romance comedy ever
best sloppy mud diarrhea
so people unironically think that soulless insect-dudes possess divine spark of creativity ?
Has anyone here seen The Classic? I don't think I've ever cried as much as I did during that movie. What a grwat payoff that movie has.
>implying souls exist
Barking Dogs Never Bite > Snowpiercer > Mother > Okja > Memories of Murder > The Host
Fuck off /pol/cunt, go shit up a Yea Forums thread.
>Snowpiercer over Memories of Murder
unless there's some kind of asian snowpiercer i'm unaware of, that was trash. memories of murder was a'ight except for the convenient radio bitch
Is that supposed to be in reverse order?
cringe
Bong joon ho is overrated. Kim ki duk is way better
>Snowpiercer >
ewwwww
contrarian faggot
People keep recommending this in asian cinema threads but it really is a very hollywood-esque forced drama tear jerker. The ending with him raining bullets as he's getting shot repeatedly was just... so bad.
Snowpiercer is good and anyone saying otherwise is a koreaboo fanatic who automatically hates antything that taints his 100% pure korean experience with western influence. It was a decent fusion of korea and hollywood. Best marriage of east and west since Face/Off.
> means < to this fagget
>coming into a korean movie thread to tell people korean movies suck and the more americans, the better
not very bright, are you?
>tell people korean movies suck and the more americans, the better
Where did I imply either? I was simply defending snowpiercer from unjust bashing it was getting itt. It's a good fucking movie.
>unjust
It's a bad movie. Get over it, capeshitter.
You saying I should watch it? I've known its existence forever but never actually watched it. I love the main guy, the fat one.
You're only bashing it because it's in english and has white people in it.
No.
Snowpiercer isn't even that good don't die on this hill there are many better Korean directors bong joon ho is very overrated
>some kind of asian snowpiercer i'm unaware of
imagine being Korean and these dumb foreigners think your flicks are some high cultured kino just because they're not american
