Remember hen movies were about the human condition?

Now it's either about nothing, just superficial garbage with no meaning, or worse, about gender, sexual and race politics. Why the fuck would you want to be a filmmaker if you don't have anything to convey excpet propaganda for your overlords?

Thanks
Worth a watch?

Money.

>Money

I loved it but that depends on your taset. It's very psychological, it's not a samurai movie

Movies are for telling you what you want to hear, reinforcing what you already believe and repeating safe ideas

Not him but yes. Also watch Kuroneko, Children of Hiroshima and The Naked Island from Shindo.

Hen movies were based. The feet scenes were kino

It's extremely notable that nowadays movies and shows are being marketed as being "culture". You don't watch modern movies to learn and grow, you watch them because everyone else is, and if you want to be part of the current culture and discuss with everyone else, then you have to watch them.
It doesn't matter what they're about or what they teach, what matters is that everyone is following them so you have to go too. It's all so sad.

I'm OP I hated Naked Island, that movie was about nothing, a watse of time. From SHhinto I advise NINGEN, it's much better and that ending was fucking surprising.

I disagree, i think that's his best film. Anyways Kuroneko and Onibaba are quite similar i think.

Naked Island bored me to death, it's a crazy experimental film where literally nothing happens.

I disagree that nothing happens, it's quite a fascinating film. I guess it's not for everyone.

>the human condition
Why are redditors so obsessed with this?

Read "Amusing Ourselves to Death". People don't give a fuck about anything, they just want to idiotize and narcotize themselves. They want to be enterntained mindless drones

See

If you don't care and think about your own existence you're must be a mindless drone.

Are you 15 years old in your edgy teenager phase?

fuck yeah

that's not how that works

Hereditary unironically was and you contrarians have to shit on it just cuz a couple chicks also happen to like it and/or your depressing low budget movie of choice isn’t liked as much

Just because I'm not an apathetic, cynic, jaded person? No, I'm not. I just care.

You are 15

Why are you comparing past Japanese cinema to modern western cinema?

Japan still makes kino, though it far cry from the past where they constantly made kino.

What the fuck even is the human condition? Besides a trilogy of dull, predictable movies by an otherwise brilliant director.

Kino you meant to say. Is Kwaidan good?

Kaidan is obviously good, dude. Yeah, I liked it, and most other people do too. Since it's directed by Kobayashi the movie clearly won't be total shit, at the very least. It's based on a popular collection of stories by Lafcadio Hearn. Lots of other Japanese movies use it as a basis. Funnily enough I read a novel the other week, A Dark Night's Passing, that made a passing remark to it.

>The feet scenes were kino
Were that foot fetish scenes?

lmao it’s generic nu horror trash
