Great visuals, basic story, it's also a great family movie, i always wanted a sequel

just over the top good action choreography and visual flair. I remember trying to watch it once back in the day in low rez on demand. Impossible, it turns to pixel art every race.
4k blu ray pls

Extremely fucking sincere.

doesnt exactly lull and has really endearing characters. the visual style is just gorgeous.

Early Blu Ray tech demo to some, pretty colors basic plot stoner movie to others, with some fans of the original show liking it in between.

>fun
>good morals
>fantastic racing sequences
>kino climax

Saw it in the theater. Was bored beyond belief and only remember that it really sucked. I've had better times being blasted with piss.

Soul

It is the closest the live action film has come to anime

Seeing it in theater was probably my best theater experience since everyone was cheering Speed along in the last race, sorry you can't have fun user.

God bless those ladies for making this kino.

Can't believe no one has said it already
Sneed Racer

remember that episode of dexter's lab that was just one big speed racer parody?

>fun to watch
>doesn't take itself seriously
That's really all you need.

comfy movie

to date this movie captures the feeling of competition and the feeling of winning more than any other, even better than Rocky II. It all happens in the final scene when he pushes himself and the Mach 6 so hard that it melts the tires on his way to the finish line was incredible, if the rest of the movie could have had some of what made that scene special it might have performed better.

It's a live action cartoon. It is thick with color. The acting great. Everyone was on board with the style and nailed it.
It has a cool story. It is complex enough to pull some real emotional from the viewer.
It can be watched with anyone, anywhere.
It's just a good movie.

I'll add that the worst mistake the movie made was with casting, Speed Racer is a mixture of Elvis and every sports star ever and yet Emile is kind of a black hole of charisma.

honestly I don't like this film so much but I can see why people enjoy it and I think it's similar to the reason I enjoy Tron Legacy so much:
nice aesthetics
nice music
simple story
fun action scenes
a couple of "oh that's cool" moments

THIS, people always give me shit for liking this movie. I know they haven't seen it though because it got dumped on for all the green screen shit and they didn't bother. And look at what we have now with the MCU, the irony.

Because he and his kid brother are relentlessly handsome. I want to kiss them relentlessly.

it has SOUL

Actually yes

It’s a pretty faithful adaptation

>4K blu ray pls
The reason it hasn’t yet it because the effects were only mastered in 1080p

it looks awful

it's a technical masterpiece.

Child like minds

It has really beautiful, very interesting visuals that are used in very creative ways to tell the movie's story. It's also very faithful to the original series without being a clone or copying what they did in that, like the original series, the movie is very over-the-top. It's a shame that people stumbled into this thinking it'd be "just another brainless remake" and then hating it for being actually good.

I'd be fine with an upscale if it had hdr and actual hd audio

films that surpassed their source material, some by the author of the source material's own admission
>2001: a space odyssey
>blade runner
>a clockwork orange
>fight club
>the shawshank redemption
>speed racer

I should see if I can convince the local imax to bring it in some time. This summer they are doing a limited run of all 3 Nolan bat films, Interstellar and Dunkirk.

I admire how pure the story is and how sincere it is about the relationship between one man and the sport he loves and has built his life around
I'm also taken aback by the visuals. Sometimes it looks like the visualization of the brain of a stroke victim, but when it works it's really neat and inventive

speed racer on imax was the last memorable theatrical experience, literally better than avatar in 3dpd
