>You're claustrophobic!
>I NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT ANOTHER GUY!
classic.
Raphael says damn
danny drawing master splinter. all the turtles coping with raphs injuries. cricket? yeah im thinkin its kino
there is something so aesthetically pleasing to me about the design of turtles in these movies.
DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
DAAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNNM!!!! (Good).
They say shit a couple times too.
Oh shit, I was just gonna rewatch it.
It paved the way for this kino:
youtube.com
It was great. Can’t remember if this one had Vanilla Ice or it secret of the ooze. Both were kino tho.
Was Ooze. Ninja rap is best Vanilla Ice
usually straight down the middle
Secret of the Ooze had Vanilla Ice. It pretty much went to a full blown comedy cause parents complained the original was too violent.
I made a funny
I've probably watched it 50+ times.
T-U-R-T-L-E POWER
The original capekino
Better than all the MCU movies combined.
>first time seeing the foot clan ware house
>that skate board ramp
>arcade machines
>guy playing guitar
Regular or Menthol?
I’m thankful I was a kid when these came out. I loved the cartoon and I remember I couldn’t wait for this movie to come out.
I’d like to know if kids these days actually liked this new shit? It looked terrible.
Best adaption of the Turtles we've ever gotten on screen.
The Secret of the Ooze is a bit cheesy as fuck but still entertaining.
TMNT may actually be the best comic adaption of any that we have seen on the big screen honestly.
They literally look like angry black thugs in green makeup.
Fuck yeah. Also the Turtles in Time game was based.
>that scene with the force ghost splinter
kino
Idk woulda been funny to stay true to the Flaming Carrot version
this one had MC Hammer in the end credits
Overall disappointed but they tried hard so won't complain to much it's just the toons were so good and nothing ever lives up to a super fans imagination, everything was in its place but not a movie I would watch again and again.
Splinter was creepy as fuck in this movie tbqh. Thinking back it was probably just bad special effects.
>burning building scene
>burning telephone
>that music
hell yeah had a great ost too
youtube.com
Bury My Shell at Wounded Knee was my favorite
Better than the new ones.
A wise man once said "Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza".
First post best post.
They said shit and damn in the Transformers movie too. I love that kid's entertainment in the 80s didn't give a fuck. They had balls, not like the pussy-ass shit we have today.
The "toons" were for children under the age of seven.
If you honestly think those were better than this live action adaption you need to eat medical grade afterbirth.
Fun fact: That guy was Sam Rockwell.
Fun fact: Dubs.
I had a hard time figuring out how I had to throw footclan members at the screen. You pushed forward once, short, then you released, and held forward while holding the Y-button and the you threw a foot soldier at the screen. Pretty rad game mechanics dude. And to top it all of, you went back...In Time! COWABUNGA!
THIS IS WHAT WE DO
ITS MY BODY ITS MY BODY
Check'd
Also based Sam Rockwell does it again.
I remember dropping many quarters for that game. It was fun when you had a full team. OG multiplayer
The shoulder barge was easy, but throwing them at your screen was hard. I made it past that level two or three times before I figured out the mechanics.
Yep, that one and the X-Men arcade game on the six-player cabinet. Wolverine always got chosen first, then Colossus and Nightcrawler. No one ever wanted to play Cyclops or Dazzler. lol.
I got fucked in an arcade bathroom by a stranger when I was a child playing this game - will never forget lol
I never understood the "half shell" thing
if it was a half shell wouldn't it only be covering half of their backs?
I know I'm autistic yes
It's only covering their backs, not their fronts. Hence, half.
Sounds gay
I once fucked a child in the bathroom after watching him play that game. What a coincidence
go on
>Wolverine always got chosen first
Shit taste, Nightcrawler had the best special move bar none.
AHHHHHHHH!
Ah, a fellow chucker!
I miss arcades bros. In Europe they were called 'Lunaparks'. I would spent an entire day there just looking at people getting high scores. If it was game over for some of them and they weren't patient enough to let the countdown finish and left, you could take over and put your 'change' (over here it was called 'klutteringe') in.
My dad got to know my mom because she was a Pac-man God. That's literally how they met. I never talked to her about it, but I want to see how much of this is true and see her skills.
Just greenlight the fucking director's cut already.
bad timing
GOOD THING THESE GUYS AREN'T LUMBERJACKS.
NO JOKE, THE ONLY THING SAFE IN THE WOODS WOULD BE THE TREES!
CRICKET?!
NO ONE EVEN KNOWS WHAT A CRUMPET IS
I'LL TEACH YA
This fucking shot.
i always wanted to feel this scene
also checking
I can't quite describe the feeling of going from this to SotO as a kid and feeling like all they ever tried to do with that sequel was rape the original as hard as they could possibly hope to.
I got propped up on top of the toilet, was told that I had to pee and then got my overalls unbuttoned.
Formerly Sneeder
I give it a 9.95
Only game I ever demolished people in was KI Gold. That game was so broken it wasn't even funny. I could pick any character and just wreck my friends while they had to sit back and watch. I thought it was the best game ever. My friends didn't like it that much.
the worst thing about The Turtles was that they made people think that nunchucks were a real weapon and not just a farm tool Bruce Lee used as a prop.
You wanted it
nunchucks are a farm tool?
Thats a funny way to spell numbchucks
Nunchucks are a real weapon. Not saying they would be useful in real life in any kind of way, but they are dangerous. I remember my cousin waving that shit around. He had to go to the garage, because it was too dangerous. Try waving a nunchuck around in the house and you'll get a good sense of how dangerous that shit really is.
Think it was because a straight stick can break
Imagine an actor in a rubber suit having more soul than all of the current actors in any DC or Marvel movie.
What a fucking joke cinema has become.
>be me, age 10
>huge TMNT fan
>but live in the middle of nowhere
>mom tells me "There's a TMNT movie and it's playing at the closest theater"
>sincerely ask her if I can go to it
>realize later that she was planning on taking me to it
Based my mom
Trivia for you zoomers who never saw it in theaters (I did). Where raph is chasing casey jones and jumps over the taxi cab, the passenger in the back is acutally the actor who plays Raph in the suit.
That foot clan hang out place was peak comfy.
My sister got suspended for beating up another girl with a pair of nunchucks in high school.
The 80s were rad.
Man 90s and 80s New York is like a fantasy land
Fuck yeah.
>no ninja rap
Shit movie.
This is a horrible piece of trivia and you should probably kys.
If you want a game with a comparable ost you might want to play Bikermice from Mars. It's a 3d isometric take on Mariokart. The handling of the bikes is great, the weapons are good and the soundtrack is ace. Especially at the hardware store.
even better, it's got technotronic
youtube.com
I never understood the "teenage" part of the name
Never seen this as a kid, is it worth watching as an adult?
>Not 9.95
youtube.com
Yes.
It it vastly better than any TMNT film had any right to be. Yes it takes much of it from the original comics, but let's be clear, the reason it was made was the 1980s cartoon, and it does take stuff from that too.
>Is it worth it
he says
Best one.
It has some cheesy elements but it is the right mix of light-hearted fun (Mikey making jokes, the nunchuck spin) while having a few touching moments so it isn’t a complete farce (the Turtles missing their father Slinter, Leo being by Ralph’s side as he heals).
>I never understood the "teenage" part of the name
In the early 1980s, the popular comic titles were about teenage mutants (X-Men), ninjas (Daredevil), and aardvarks (Cerebus). TMNT was created to parody all of them.
>Seething Zoomer who'll never see retirement but will pay for mine.
damn I forgot about this one, you just took me back to 1990 being 9 years old listening to this on my new cd player I thought was the coolest thing in the world because I didn't have to rewind anymore
Any other films with a similar aesthetic to TMNT? I've always liked its gritty, steamy, urban sort of look.
And even the nature section is very vibrant but naturalistic
I was born in 86 and will be 33 on wednesday, god we so old :(
>that intro scene of new york
>that music that plays
KINO
While we're on the subject: it's incredibly difficult to find the complete ost to the cartoon show. It was on youtube for a while, but now it's gone again. It's one of the GOAT soundtracks for me. For the same reason I like Carpenter, Fiedel and Faltermeyer.
This dude had a synthesizer with a sound of it's own. Pity it's not on youtube anymore.
Secret best characters
Ghostbusters 2, tho the palette is a bit brighter it's a similar late 80s New York feel
New York is all so moody in the film, love it.
Just listen to this, for me it's eargasmic, you'll never hear those sounds elsewhere again. It has some sounds of the show in it, but what are you gonna do? The original ost is not available anywhere anymore. Man... listen to those sounds. KINO
>it's incredibly difficult to find the complete ost to the cartoon show
powderakacaseyjones.bandcamp.com
This guy's doing all the heavy lifting
Fuck this one. Number 2 is good tho
I was still poor at the time because I remember having the TMNT2 soundtrack on cassette and thought I was badass for listening to "rap" aka Vanilla Ice rapping about ninja turtles.
Well better than your fists so.... it’s a weapon
The ending has a rap you colossal faghot TURTLE POWER
Hate to sound like a cunt, but I don't want to listen to a fucking MIDI version. Because that's what it sounds like. The original synth had a very distinct sound to it. Props to the guy, but if falls short. I want the original sound.
Was it Kino or is it more nostalgia? I'm in my mid-thirties and that Turtles logo still makes my brain pump out endorphins just looking at it - the effect of late 80's/ early 90's media hype at full power.
kino
pic related is kinda close
>Was it Kino or is it more nostalgia?
I just watched it this weekend. Hadn't seen it since I watched it in the theater in 1990.
It was great, might watch it again tonight.
Remember that episode where a purple alien crashed his pod into a lake and the turtles dove in to rescue him. He died too; And it was part of a bigger arch. If my mind's not playing tricks on me.
I'm glad the cg animated series made fun of this seen by having Michaelangelo start the beat on his Chuck's and Raph punches him
It's all coming back. A had a green VHS. Low quality bullshit. The tape, not the show.
LET'S ROCK.....AND RIDE!
fuck that shit was cringe. even back then. Good cartoon though with a lot of emotional depth.
First is kino, second is pure nostalgia.
What's up, dudes?
I'm almost positive I have more TMNT cards around here somewhere. I think I had at least one complete set.
No gum, though
CG series was real good
I had Turtles blanket and pillow sleeves. The first Turtles movies was perfect. Wouldn't want Burton to make some weirded out shit.
I had a few cards from all of those, but the only complete set I had was Marvel Masterpieces and some other generic Marvel cards
Looking the values up in Wizard between classes. Take me back.
In 9th grade a kid accused me of reading porn in math class because I had this issue out

What's a good site
twitch if you are not worried about your IP getting flagged
other than that i dont know
turtles c y t u b e when?
literally on youtube. no im not linking.
Bossa Nova!
Chevy Nova?
Bitwave I know for a fact does not give a shit if you stream copyrighted content, but I've heard a lot of people shit on that site (don't recall why though). Dlive is another alternative, they didn't care when people livestreamed the Democratic debates (unlike Youtube and Twitch, who both let CNN fuck people). is also a good option, although that site demands you download shit to make their videos work sometimes.
I have a VPN but I'm retarded about streaming and it seems like the only way to stream a video on cytube is to already have it uploaded somewhere else
>Chad playing NBA Jam
I met one special ed kid who liked it
Yeah, for cytube, it has to have been uploaded on another site, and it's really restrictive which sites it can play videos from. The TMNT movie seems to be up on Youtube, though. youtube.com
and one of the teams was the Spurs
watch it at half speed to really appreciate the animatronics
First one is legit good.
The rest are trash but enjoyable as camp.
fuck it we might as well watch this since this looks to be the full thing
I'm making it right now, it's called turtlepower
put that at the end of the cy t link
I'll throw up some of the other vids in the thread while people file in

im not even trolling. one of my favorite 'parts' in movie history, was the turtles going to the farmhouse to rediscover themselves and splinter comes out of the campfire

COME ON IN BROS
I'M IN HERE

guys GTF in here
I didn’t get it either when I was a kid, but we were both overthinking it. It’s just a shitty pun comparing them to oysters served on the half shell.

Is this movie more Late Gen X or Early Millennial?
>Not saying they would be useful in real life in any kind of way, but they are dangerous.
They’re perfectly useful in real life, you’re just not supposed to use them like you see in martial arts demonstrations.
>Is this movie more Late Gen X or Early Millennial?
Gen X, very much. It hits all the classic 80s tropes despite being made in 1990 (the final year of the 1980s)
True, but older millennials could've seen the movie in theaters when they were 5-8.
They weren't even allowed to use their weapons in the second one
So what?
Then you weren't a kid
Soto is 10x more appealing to children.
I think thats why I always thought the movie came out in 1989. I still remember on the playground seeing pictures from it for the first time. They were in one of those sticker books
late gen x
I was born in 80 and I was the perfect age for the turtles in their prime, but I was too young to understand the context of most of the jokes.
Get the fuck in the TURTLEPOWER cy tube you niggers we're watching the first movie
both very late gen x and very early millennial.
Lethal Weapon. You don't need 2, 3, and 4 but 2 is okay up until you lose track half way
we watched the whole movie while this thread was up
thanks everyone who showed up, I had fun
based OP friday night well spent
Here's that shot
Michaelangelo too. ninja kick the damn rabbit

i own the trilogy on blu ray
Streets of Fire
Is this that dumb jap movie that Tarantino ripped off for Reservoir Dogs?
Is 3 as shit as I remember? I saw it and theaters and thought it sucked even as a kid.
I love that poster, I think its legitimately one of the greatest posters of all time.
No, it's that lovably dumb American movie that Japs ripped off for Final Fight.
No.
It's a kino urban fairytale with Rick Moranis as a sleazy music agent and Willem Dafoe as a motorcycle ganger who wears rubber overalls.
It has rock and roll, lots of gunplay, with exploding vehicles and sledge hammer duels.
>where only the rock is real
disregarded. dwayne johnson wasn't even hatched yet.
yep
so fucking well done
>music indicates it's important
>it's a 30 second scene
I went to see this in theaters with my brother and dad, and then we went to the Pizza Hutt with the TMNT arcade game. Pretty good times.
they were the last thing Jim Henson worked on :(
Thank you.
Some people don't understand this. The him Henson company did an amazing job.
I'd go so far as to say that these suits from the first movie are the best depictions of the turtles in any media.
Just look and how lifelike and expressive they are.
i think i can see their vagina bones
