Why is there never an in-between? It was good but too slow and dull at times

bit slow, but it had its moments

>Why is there never an in-between?
Because you wouldn’t have visited this thread otherwise.

I wouldn't put a gun to my head to save my friend. But it's a kino movie about coping with the loss of dear ones. Just not a truthfull war movje.

kino ending scene

Overrated as fuck.

It drags at times and its a bit overrated but i can see why people liked it
The P.O.W scenes were a bit cheesy though

The Russian Roullette scene was kind a cool though. A world of pain, Smokey.

>pretentious

nobody uses this word correctly. If anything it's the most basic, unpretentious film ever.

OMG it has deniro....he hates orange man.
it bad

seriously tho. its fantastic

Apocalypse now is a nice in-between.

"too slow and dull at times"

Imagine getting your shit pushed in by a fucking woman

He’s right though. The wedding sequence is unbearable.

her fat gives her momentum

your brain has been rendered fucktarded by playing sonic the hedgehog

>2.5hr movie
>one kinda cool scene
Kek

Masterpiece. One of the few American films that work like a novel.

The wedding sequence is so great, masterclass of cinematic storytelling, fusion of Hollywood narrative and European art cinema of Visconti and likes.

But of course boomers, millennials and pleb in general only want that sweet Tarantino violence so they go to the film just for the russian roulette and they miss the beauty of it all.

Cimino was true master. Alongside Deer Hunter, Heaven's Gate is one of the greatest American films ever made. Cimino’s compositions alone were worth twice of most of his peers’.

It’ll be a long time before someone this mad and smart will be allowed to make big budget Hollywood films again.

I LOVE YOU BABY
AND IF IT'S QUITE ALLRIGHT I NEED YOU BABY
YOU'RE JUST TO GOOD TO BE TRUE
CAN't TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU
Fuck it.
TO KEEP ME WARM AT NIGHT

There were several scenes of theme playing Russian roulette, however they were only forced to play the first game when they were POW.

Its a classic masterpiece.
It feels slow because it tells an entire story. Instead of telling the audience how the characters feel and interact the movie allows you to experience it. You become vested in the characters and story. You feel deeper because you lived the story instead of being told the cliff notes.
This is cinema at its upper levels all the way around.

I hate hollyshit movies about vietnam. Did you know the guy who started vietnam (the golf of tonkin ruse) was the father of hippie musician, jim morrison?
Watch oliver stone flicks. Watch them carefully.

Why doesn't Yea Forums ever talk about the downfall of Robert De Niro? Pic related.

Literally the first Oscar bait. Read up on how it was marketed.

Pretentious masterpiece

it's not like he was ever going to top those films
it's just a job

If you've had any life experience like genuine friendships and attending weddings you would learn to appreciate these moments in films.

absolute masterpiece, one of the greatest american films of all time

>It’ll be a long time before someone this mad and smart will be allowed to make big budget Hollywood films again.

So true. And so sad. American cinema is practically dying.
