Red pill me on this stupid show, my girlfriend begged and pleaded with me to watch it. The first 15ish minutes were marginally interesting, then came the next 2 hours of LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENING

because nothing happens, we're given extremely slow character development that doesn't need to be an hour long, and we're rehashed the idea that this kid can't be found, which is established well within the start of the show and doesn't need to be reminded to the audience unless we are to assume the viewer is completely and utterly braindead.
There's a reason most shows that do a "character disappearing" act skip over the search part unless it's actually relevant to the plot
But there is literally something happening. Discussions are taking place which help flesh out characters. That's an objective fact whether you like it or not. I recommend you watch this if you want your complaint to be valid.
