Aleksi Mäkelä has done few very good iconic movies, Häjyt and Pahat Pojat, those are very good, Rööperi and Vares movies are good too.
if you want comedy, can't go wrong with Kummeli and all the other works of those guys, though you'd gotta know finnish when watching those as well as other domestic comedies, but learning the language pays off when you can understand them.
War movies like Rukajärven tie and the one everyone knows, Tuntematon sotilas.
There's also bunch of other ones that i can't recall now which are alright from all kinds of categories.
