> > What's the ideal length of a film? 90-110 minutes, generally. With longer than that I'm always wondering why am I watching it instead of spending time with book. Film is 'lmao just turn off your brain' medium for me, last resort to pass time.
>What's the ideal length of a film? However long it takes to tell the story it needs to tell.
letterboxd.com/SteadmanSlick/ -No profile pic b/c I'm not tying this shit to any form of social media, especially ones I don't have. -Favorite movies are the definitive 10/10s. Only picked those two because I can't decide what else to put up there that would misrepresent me. These two movies are at the opposite ends of my taste in film, really. -Liked movies are any one that I can just watch on repeat with no change in my level of enjoyment, with a couple exceptions for movies that are a 9 or higher. -I log, I don't star. And only movies I've watched/rewatched after joining the site. -The two lists I made, the 4 lists I liked, and the 1 review I liked are for clerical purposes. -My watch history is not full, owing to a faulty memory. The Mask is my most recently added because I thought I'd already put it on there when I logged every movie I owned, but apparently I've misplaced my copy sometime in the past year when I moved.

Who is the plebbiest user in here besides trolls? I think I am. Least pleb would have to be S.

3 hours if it's a complex film. 90 minutes if it's a more straightforward one. If you've seen films like Cat People or I Walked With a Zombie, you see how you don't really need that much time if you have a very clear idea of what you're trying to do.
Caleb Gomez
why does this film make trannies seethe ? why is there is an irrational amount of loathing in the popular reviews ?
>Firstly: dangerous fascist and white supremacist ideologies can go to hell. We remove such content from our service regularly. We want to catch it all. We’ve changed our community policy as of today to reflect this, adding in an explicit line rejecting content that “expressly praises, supports, promotes or represents white nationalist ideology”.
Bunch of morons. I wonder whether they will remove those anti male and anti white posts that are all over their website.

Depends, but between 100-130 minutes I find to be the sweet spot. I forgot who said it, but somebody once said that no film needs to be longer than 2001, & I mostly agree with that.
Kayden Collins
what was the original review?
Levi Peterson
It was SilentDawn's review of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. This was all over twitter a couple days ago and was in the OP of this thread, too. Where were you?
I thought he was smart but then I read some more of his reviews and I’m convinced he doesn’t understand Griffith at all. He calls Griffith a ‘pragmatist’, Griffith wasn’t a pragmatist he was a vaudeville fruitcake. Another review he calls Christianity a ‘scam’, what a joke that is, how can you be such a fan of Griffith but have nothing but contempt for the ideals that solely infuse Griffith’s pictures with its warmth and clarity? Griffithfag can only review pictures based on some sort of meta-narrative rivalry chip on his shoulder he has with contemporary cinephiles, he can’t conceive of an original thought, only reactions to a made up meta-narrative. It’s mentally ill. I come in with my Birth of a Nation examination and I flip the whole table over, no one brought it back to Star Wars and the contemporary meta-narrative of historical movements throughout time. Pragmatists be damned
Is there any way to replace the Recent Activities bar with Recent Likes in your profile? It used to show the latter until a few weeks ago but it changed for some reason.

>Who’s ready for this to inexplicably become the highest rated film on LB? I know I’m not! Only fans watch concert films. Hows that for an explication.
>using “kino” in your reviews Gonna be a “yikes” from me
Gabriel Sanders
its pronounced кинo
Dominic White
What, that was not a review that was just a clarification. Seriously, how the fuck do I delete ratings? There's a bunch of movies it just randomly registers as rated 5 stars despite me never ever logging them or visiting ther page or anything. I can't remember how I deleted some. Wait, maybe it's some higher being telling me to watch these? Maybe they're kino that will guide me in my life... Hmm.
Ethan Martin
>how you rated my favourite films I don't rate movies number-wise. I never saw the point of it. In my opinion, the only viable method of ranking a movie is just that: literal ranking. Dark City>True Stories>>>>>>>The Vast Majority of the Movies I've Watched>>>>> Literal Shit>Pauly Shore is Dead>13 Moons>The Breakfast Club
Leo Cooper
Fuck off if I say it's kino then it's kino. Iam more partial to Κίνο myself
