What's the best WW2 film?

Colonel Nicholson in Bridge on the River Kwai was exhibiting Anglo supremacy by unconsciously assisting the enemy in building a stable transport bridge with British engineers. He just wanted to give his men something to to keep their spirits up. William Holden told him to blow it and he had a eureka moment when he realized he committed treason so he fell on the plunger to destroy his own creation. The book portrays the Japs as desperate and idiotic.

iirc he argued with his men that the war would last a few years but the bridge hundreds if they built it well. So if it helped the villagers for hundreds years it would overcome the fact that it helped the japs for a few years

I think this film has one of the most overrated stupidiest endings ever and especially alec guiness drunk 360-noscope spin looks redicilously forced. The only lesson it teached is that destruction in humans is a neverending resourcy
