Idris Elba as Literally Everyone

youtube.com/watch?v=fWS3Ew2ol2I
It's a pity the original voice actors are too old to play these roles in the flesh now. The musical was kino

Produced by Netflix

gon - tom holland
leorio - jake gyllenhall
kurapika - ellen degeneres
killua - CGI

Is this anime actually that good? Looks like generic shonen shit

Jake Gyllenhaal should be Chrollo. He literally looks like him in Nightcrawler

it's definitely unique, you'll either love it or hate it.

How do you even say the title of this show? Is it Hunter Hunter or Hunter "Ex" Hunter?

Hunter times Hunter, it's true

How could Tom Holland play an 11/12 year old exactly?

It is. But it's really good generic shonen shit. Like how Daddy Ray's Fig Bars are better than Fig Newtons.

why would you have killua be the only CGI character? weird choice
It's top tier shonen. People hype it up too much with "muh deconstruction" and "muh intellectual shonen" but it is actually just an example of what shonen can be at it's peak. Just watch it and see if you like it

Hunter multiplied by Hunter, same goes for the episode names.

nope, it's just Hunter Hunter. The X is just a feature of the in-universe language to separate words

Good shit, minus an overly long arc that pseudo intellectuals point to as the peak of "deconstruction" and "writing". The anime is poorly paced in that arc, massively undermining a huge amount of the run time. It's better read in general after hitting said arc. There's actually some good animation in the earlier parts of the anime that make it worth watching though.

Its like saying hunter versus hunter. Japanese typically say fighto in a matchup so it would likely be Hunter fighto Hunter

Dude Chimera ant arc is in the top 5 arcs of all time in nearly all polls

what are you fucking elementary schoolers? it's hunter cross product hunter

In the manga it's better, but in the anime it's literally narrated and in slow motion for half it's run time. It's a bunch of people that are watching for "serious real world implications" about North Korea and shit. It's not intelligent, it's up its own ass and just has many moving pieces. The "philosophy" that people examine is bare bones and literally 101 tier.

paris hilton as pariston hill

Which movie would produce the most memes?

gon - Elijah Wood
leorio - Bradley Cooper
kurapika - Desmond Napoles
killua - Billie Eilish

Greed Island

>not Hunter Times Hunter
try again

I'd say more of a Cambodia feel rather than DPRK

>minus an overly long arc that pseudo intellectuals...
there's always that one guy in every thread

You always have to show yourselves, don't you? It's funny how you can't just let someone not like your shitty arc with low tier psych eval and philosophy in a children's manga. No one should be reading shounen for that and it's pathetic that people in their 20s, and some even in their 30s, still think it's more than a well orchestrated set of moving pieces.

I started watching this show and loved the hunter exam. I barely made it through the battle tower arc and dropped the show right at the beginning of the new york auction. Should I pick it back up and try to get through it? It's been like 30 episodes without my nigga Leorio.

The NGL is more Cambodia with the Luddite culture and aversion to technology. East Gorteau is definitely a reference to North Korea

Leorio is relegated to the sidest of side characters that only shows up every now and again for the rest of the runtime. And I mean, VERY little.

Alright fuck this show then. I only started watching because of the Hisoka-Chuck meme anyway.

York New is my favorite arc, I'd say watch through that. You might like it, it's basically super powered mob shit.

Doesn't matter to me if you liked it or not. Just pointing out the fact that there is one of you either in every thread on the topic or making your own and crying about how you didn't like it. It's always some cheap empty slams like "pretentious" and "101" from your types, just own up to it.

>caring that much about Leorio who never did anything ever
Nothing against him but he's really not worth hyping at all.

Leorio is instrumental in moving parts of the story forward. He even basically has his own arc at the very end of the series.

Greed Island>York New

It's not even cheap, it's factual. I enjoy HxH as a whole, but the worship for such mediocrity drives people away from it after the insane level of praise it gets. Get over it, it's low tier 101 psych/philosophical shit spewed onto some pages with superpowers.

>Leorio is instrumental in moving parts of the story forward.
That's a funny way of saying Hisoka.

Greed Island is probably my second, don't worry, user.

I'm not a young Japanese boy, so Leorio is the character I naturally invested in. Gon is a terribly bland protagonist.

gon- ryan gosling
leorio- idris elba
kurapika- brad pitt
killua- some literally who
director- QT

Honestly not that philisophical unless you overanalyze. I come from the NGE generation sooooo...

And again, doesn't matter to me whether you liked it or not. I've been around, I've heard it all. You want a medal for cheap blanket statements, you won't get them from me.

Gon is purposefully naive and simple so that Togashi can make him have a breakdown later and impress a bunch of smoothbrains with his "writing foresight"

Heh...Gon was smashing mad pussy from mature pedomoms before he even caught that fish

I would have too if he had actually done anything at any point in time. Kurapika is better.

You really should get back to Yea Forums so you can spam hunterchad memes

Try talking to someone that loves it, you'll see how much they overanalyze everything.

You act like naive protags in Anime who go beast mode is a unique thing or sumtin

Of course it's gotta be Leorio and not Milluki who is literally the average Yea Forums poster

How was the Greed Island OVA series? No one talks about that one

I didn't claim it was unique. I have a feeling you're not really familiar with how obsessive people are over HxH and how deep they think it is in general, that moment being cited endlessly.

Its my second fav and I've watched it 4 times...I can see parallels to real life but thats what makes it relatable. Its not meant to be overanalyzed

Imagine a live action adaptation of the Chimera arc with the budget of a capeshit movie.

Are you mad you didn't see it coming until the arc when it all came together?

If I was a hunterchad poster, I'd sure as fuck rub it in your face, boyo

>average Yea Forums poster*

While we’re on the subject of anime, Stardust Crusaders cast?

Only if they showed chars being eaten alive

You clearly are with how you type. Post your image macros so people can laugh at you.

That or /jp/ actually

They better not butcher the ora's like in the English dub

>seeing Meruem get absolutely BTFO by based Netero on the big screen
I can't even fathom it

Eng dub was good tho

it'd be impossible to find a manly hapa to play Jotaro

He's only a normal human going up against a bunch of capeshit-level freaks. The part where he fought Hisoka in the illusion swamp was pure kino.

its the apex of Japanese story telling

These guys

I like him, but he hasn't done anything by the time I stopped watching besides torture killua.

>the virgin x virgin the Chad Chad Hakusho
Cast Yusuke

That's must be a byproduct of them bullying you, I take no responsibility

me

Impossible, any cool young actors are gone in the current age

This.
It's really mind boggling how people read WSJ manga and try getting something like classical literature out of it.
I love this stuff but you have to understand the context in which it exists. If you actually crave intellectual stuff, do yourself a favor and go look for it somewhere else.

What about just saying that the pacing is trash and it’s roughly a dozen good episodes stretched out and padded into 60 garbage ones?

I tried to watch this because I heard it was really good but turned it off halfway through the first episode because of how generic it was and how unlikeable the main character was.

And what would you recommend?

All time then. Any actor from any time.

By ep4 youre srsly invested. I did the same at first

You're talking to the wrong guy if you are thinking I'm defending the anime. I've always thought they botched the arc for that stupid 1:1 adaptation meme. It was a slog to get through, the narration could never have transferred well.

If it were done but the 99 crew, then we could have got something

Not him but unironically getting a foundation from Greek literature and learning the basic canon of either fictional or philosophy will broaden your mind very quickly if that's what you're into. I'm into manga and anime too, but understanding the basics of storytelling and how it has evolved since we started it makes everything much more interesting. Anime/Manga are fun larks to relax, not a way of life.

Maybe a young Matt Dillon

It won't work, Would be cringe.

Amazon Prime live action show adaptation of YYH with a lot of extra spirit detective stuff would be kino.

This user has a good suggestion.
But I'd recommend just checking out classical books that interest you. Stuff you maybe have heard of but never really got to read. You can look 20/19th century stuff and go backwards too, I guess that's an easier entry point.
When it comes to manga there is Vagabond, you probably have heard of it, which is an adaptation a Japanese classic Musashi.
That's a good choice, I can see it.

Hunter x Hunter has one good arc (Yorkshin) and thats it

Also don't try to force yourself down a rabbit hole of only classics, just throw them in here and there. It's good to mix it up, and you really start to see how many common themes and ideas come up in every great work, despite culture. Also if you're going to read foreign classics that are translated, do some research before figuring out which one to read because not all translations are equal.

honestly im ok with most anime posts on Yea Forums, but hunterxhunter is the most autistic anime ive tried to watch, could only make it through half an episode.

have sex

The soundtrack is kino.

>kurapika - ellen degeneres
lol

bad pacing at various points but it's easily the greatest shonen of all time and one of the greatest anime of all time.

also it's darker than most shonen, which is funny since it starts out really lighthearted and you think it's gonna be a happy-go-lucky kind of show.

Attached: hunter hxh.jpg (965x545, 294K)

i agree the pacing is bad and the arc suffers for it. but i don't really get what people on Yea Forums mean when they say x is shallow or deep. like what's the reference point? also i think people like CA because of the character arcs, not because of the "deep philosophy".

Say it's not marketed the same way other live action anime movies are and it gains a (relatively) normie audience as well who don't know what the source materia isl.
