Slow deterioration up until last season which ran off a cliff. The show just doesn't work without Glenn Howerton, they filmed half a season without him realized it was trash and desperately wrote him back into the show. The episodes they filmed with Dennis are passable and the one on sexual harassment was actually pretty funny but the other half of the season are probably the 5 worst episodes they've ever made.

I think it jumped the shark when they blew up the Land Rover. That was a logical ending for the show, Mac came to terms with being gay, Charlie banged the waitress, Dee hit rock bottom and Dennis grew up. I think they all expected that to be the end but then they had a truckload of cash thrown at them and they decided to make another season and all we got from them was pretentious shit like Rob McElhenney inexplicable obsession with interpretive dance.

They gave in to the vocal minority to make Mac come out. I believe without a doubt the moment they made him to do this was the start of the true downfall. It was fine to continue to hint at it. It made some funny jokes. But now he's just "Lemme add some 'I'm actually gay' into the joke", instead of it forever being a joke whether or not he was, and everyone believing he already was. It was unnecessary to just admit it, especially when, if I remember, they didn't want to in the first place.

I don't give a shit if you're straight or gay, but you blew a long running gag that I feel like should've never been broken in the way they did, and only set the scene for the future episodes.

real character growth

The show is dead, some retards ITT obviously didn't understand the show and should just not talk about it. Basically, character development ending in a happy ending is completely out of place in the show like this and kills the comedy. Always sunny really ended somewhere in season 7-9.
